This is a fun game for two teams as many members you want on a team.
I had not played this game until going for a girl friends week at the beach. Easy to learn, as many as you want can play, and the play is fun and funnier! Start out describing, then one word, and finally pantomime leaving everyone laughing and puzzled as to what the answer is. Great fun!

Great Game!
We were introduced to Codenames (the original game) last Christmas. My husband and I decided we wanted to get it, and went ahead and bought the original game in the XXL size (old eyes). I bought this version for him for Fathers' Day, and we love it even more than the original game. It's great for larger groups, I highly recommend it. (And off topic, if you need a group activity for a Zoom meeting, the makers have made an online version of the original game.)

The Larger Pictures Very Helpful
We've played the original Codenames game and enjoyed it so we decided to try this version. It's a surprisingly different experience and we really liked this version too. There are some subtle elements in the pictures that I think would be very difficult to make out if the pictures were smaller. One might think pictured would be easier for younger players but I don't think it would really work out that way.

Same great game, just bigger, but why twice the price?
Our friends and family love Code Names Pictures. I purchased this version to play at at upcoming beach trip with some elderly buddies, who might find it easier to see the jumbo cards. The cards are easier to see, but, obviously, they take up more table space as well. My only real gripe with this is that they cost twice as much as the regular-sized version. We like it so much, we got it anyway, but I would have been much happier, and I'd buy many more to gift if they cost $10 less, so maybe $7 or $8 more than the regular version instead of $17-$18 more.

Fun for abstract thinkers - not so much fun for literal thinkers.
Great game and great size (mostly). We really enjoy this game and bought the XXL for parents. The reason for the four star is the key card (the one that’s supposed to show you which cards your team needs to guess) needs to be bigger. It’s definitely a game for the abstract thinker. The members of our family who are extremely literal hated the game. The cards are nonsensical which makes it difficult for literal thinkers to come up with clues. For example is the card showing train tracks in a broken down tunnel or is it random kindling in front of a fireplace?

Great, but need expansion
One of my favorite game systems ever... I love all the Codenames games (Original, Pictures, and Duet) but Pictures might be my favorite, and the XXL is the way to go, especially for Pictures. The only problem is the limited number of picture cards... this game needs an expansion more than any other game I've seen. More XXL picture cards please!

We love this game. It's creative, thought provoking. And easy for people of all ages to join in on. (Starting around 7 or 8).
