Hardware Resources 14" Keyboard Slide Without Tray, Black

These were reasonably priced and fit just as I’d hoped on the keyboard tray of my old desk, which has been falling off its track for the past 15 years or so(!).I can’t believe it was this easy to change all along! Using an electric screwdriver/drill and a flashlight, I removed all of the old hardware from the pull out tray, and replaced it with the new hardware. I was able to do it by myself in about 40 minutes. (For reference, I have very little drill experience.) It would be slightly easier to install with another person to help hold it in place.The tray glides in and out super smoothly so far. I’ve been using it daily for a couple of months and so far so good!I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find these replacement parts in the first place. These seem to be of decent quality and are worth a try.

I was flabbergasted :) I ordered these slideson April 10th (Friday) and figured it wouldbe about the middle to end of the followingweek before I saw them...My husband put a large box on the kitchencounter on April 11th - and it was addressedto me.It was these slides...The following morning, I removed the old,slides and very easily put the new ones on.They came with all of the necessary screws(I'd read reviews of other slides that didn'tcome with the screws)The slides themselves feel very sturdy/wellbuilt.The tabs that hold the wooden tray are largeand heavy duty (part of the problem with myold sliders is that one of the very small/thintabs broke off)The only "issue" and it's mine is that the woodenshelf is 1/4" thinner than the rails so, there is abit of a "lip" that pushes against my hand...I just cut some really heavy durty cardboardas a temporary "fix" until I can get a piece of1/4" wood to raise the surface up so that the"table" top is even with the slide rails.I didn't pay attention to other dimensions (don'tknow if the description read what they heightof the side rails is or not)The sliders themselves are PERFECT...nicesmooth operation ...a good "back stop" (I'dread a review of another - similar product thatdid NOT have a back stop so the tray keptfalling out.)For price, quality and lightening fast delivery,you can't go wrong..... Rolls great, arrived pretty scratched up so packaging could be better

I looked at nearly all of these slides. Read all the reviews. The general complaint is one of build quality. People commenting they "fall apart". This one received good reviews and I can wholeheartedly agree. These are well-built. They feel "heavy" in your hand. The slides work flawlessly. I try to spend money once on things I guy. This will fall into that category. So have no hesitation about this hardware, it will work.

The ball bearings glide smoothly. The mounting brackets that attach to the table can be turned to face in or out. A nice backup if you suddenly realized that there's something on the way where you planned to screw it on. The length of the board you wanna install is only limited by the length of the table or your personal preference. I used a 3/4-inch, 4-foot melamine shelf board that I purchased at Home Depot for $10 then I asked them to cut it for me down to 36 inches. The melamine will chip on one side since the blade they use at home depot is meant for ripping. Mine didn't chip bad just because they just changed the blade when I got there. But no problem for me since I made the chipped side facing down. If you have you're own saw then I recommend that you use a 60-tooth blade. Or if you want your board to color-match your table then buy an unfinished wood then spray paint it.If you measure as accurately as possible with some common sense, I don't see anyone going wrong with this product. Like any other slide, if not aligned properly, it can give you problems. Totally, not the fault of the manufacturer. The build quality, to me, seems heavy duty. It comes with 8 screws. Some of the holes on the mounts are oval, a very nice feature also for having some micro-adjustment options.One room for improvement, IMHO is...I wish the screw mounts that go under the board extended more. The center of the hole is only 3/8 of an inch from the edge of the board your screwing down. It's just too close to the edge of the board for comfort. At least over 1/2" would have been nice.Overall, I am very, very happy with this product because I now have 36 inches by 12 inches of extra space under my table.

It locks in the closed position but doesn't lock in open position. The keyboard moves while trying to type. This is unfortunate because the hardware feels durable and is easy to install.
