Functions as it should, 10 seconds delay to before terminal 87 turns on.

Used as a control relay for a circuit that we need to activate after vehicle starts. 87A is “on” for the first 10 seconds then turns off, terminal 87 is “off” for the first 10 seconds then turns on…In our application only using the 87 to turn on circuit after vehicle starts..

SO FAR SO GOOD

Using for my LED floor lights on the interior of my vehicle. They were getting burned out every few months about half way thru strip. I was thinking since they are hooked up to a 12vdc ignition switch they are getting a power spike when vehicle is started and burning out. Now they turn on about 10 seconds after i start the vehicle. Hopefully this fixes my issue. time will tell. Peace of mind for 10 bucks at 15 min of work

Ryobi ZTE precharge circuit

I used 1 of these to make a controller precharge circuit for my Ryobi ZTE 48volt zero turn mower. When I swapped out the 4yr old lead batteries for new lifepo4 batteries, the startup amp draw from the controller was tripping the BMS on the lifepo4 batteries. I used of this relaywith1 100w resistor ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0995NG7K7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )and1 5pin relay ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078T3RC5T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )to make a precharge relay circuit that precharges the controller capacitors for 10sec before engaging the main power relay.

I love the time delay but not sure about the amp rating.

OriginalAt 12V, I ran this for a months that only pulled 7-8amps, but peaked at 15amps, ran fine without problems. Changed out some components and started running this in a circuit that pulled 15-18amps, but peaked at 25amps at start up. Lasted a few weeks and failed. Had a 30A fuse, so it never saw that many amps. Might be ok for some use cases, but I don't trust it anymore.UpdateBought another one because I like the time delay feature. Sat on my shelf while I got around to installing it. Defective but past return window. Ordered another brand instead.

Make sure your wires are correct - works great!

Another reviewer posted the pins below. This is my first time using a time-delay, and I had 85 and 86 swapped, which worked fine with a regular relay, but not with the time delay. I had to go to the reviews, but I learned something! Convention is 85 to ground. I'm very happy this works- my electric fans don't come on right away so there is less load on the battery when firing up my Camaro- no slow crank!Pin 30 = constant 12v power (battery)Pin 85 = relay groundPin 86 = 12v trigger to activate relay and timerPin 87 = normally open (12v applied till after 10s)Pin 87a = normally closed (12v applied once trigger 12v applied to pin 86, power to pin 87a expires after 10s and switched power to pin 87)

Does what it says, 10s delay on the dot, wiring layout in my review

Got this relay to turn on my speedhut hot rod gauges after I’m done starting my car as my gauges might glitch during the voltage drop while starting up. This relay is a standard 5 pin and I timed the delay which was 10s dead on basically. All wiring in past reviews are incorrect and I’m going to provide the correct wiring for everyone since I have it. 4 stars bc it works as stated and seems heavy duty with a solid click in the relay. But no diagram or pigtail is included (which I knew). Time will tell how it holds up.Pin 30 = constant 12v power (battery)Pin 85 = relay groundPin 86 = 12v trigger to activate relay and timerPin 87 = normally open (12v applied till after 10s)Pin 87a = normally closed (12v applied once trigger 12v applied to pin 86, power to pin 87a expires after 10s and switched power to pin 87)The relay is setup specifically for 12v switching as dictated by the 86+ on the relay but you can also swap 85 and 86 and put ground/negative on the 86 side and switched 12v trigger on the 85 side and the relay will still trigger but you will be sending ground/negative from pin 86 to pin 87 and 87a. Essentially whatever is connected to pin 86 gets transmitted to pin 87 and 87a. So you technically could use this as a negative trigger relay but I haven’t tested this but it’s possible with all 4 and 5 pin relays as I have done that in the past.Hope this helps!

Didn't work for what i got it for.

I had bought it to put it in my truck to make my lights stay on for a few seconds after I had gotten out or opened my door but no matter how I wired it up it wouldn't work like I thought it would so I'm going to use it in a different project.

Works great

Used this relay to add day time running lights to an older vehicle. The delay is longer than 10 secs. but around 15 secs it comes on every time. Nice to have.
