007: James Bond - Sean Connery 6-Film Collection (4K Ultra HD + Digital)

All six movies look AMAZING in 4k - I received this collection today 6/5/2025 as an early birthday gift -not sure where my wife found it - Surprised to learn MGM is now owned by AMAZON - if this is a preview of their quality of work on remastering and or restoration of films I can't WAIT for MORE releases - kudos to AMAZON!!

I am only offering 3/5 stars for a very obvious reason. The set hasn't been released yet. So no one can really speak to how the discs are or what the transfers look like yet.With any kind of expensive edition, such as this, all you can do is judge the product on what you see and whether you feel it is worth taking the gamble to place a preorder.We don't know what the specific special features will be.That being said, there are a few things we can evaluate based on what is shown. The artwork is just ok. I feel like the single blu-ray releases with imagery from the cinematic title credits were a bit more iconic. If they wanted to use movie stills? I think they could have used more iconic scenes. Bond on the table with the laser in Goldfinger for example.With that said? The price isn't too bad when you consider the six 4k films would be about $25 ea. which is better than most of the 4k steelbooks we see these days.A lot of folks point to the exclusion of Never Say Never again. I get it. We all want all the films. Never Say Never again has never been considered canon as it was from a litigious dispute over the rights between EON productions and Kevin McClory.A similar issue faced previous iterations of Pink Panther collections, where Pink Panther Strikes Again was often not included due to rights issues iirc. Shout Factory put out a Peter Sellers collection that had all the Peter Sellers films.

Got my preorder in. Great to finally see these films in 4K and with all new Dolby Atmos soundtracks it's a no-brainer. Personally, I'm not buying these movies for the cover art. I'm buying them to watch.

Where is the 7th movie "Never Say Never Again "?

Well everyone is having a whinge about something, the covers, the lack of NEVER SAY NEVER, no blu-ray copies. I have a question... will they have digitally corrected the glaring continuity error in FRWL where the damage to front of the truck in the helicopter chase sequence appears then disappears from shot to shot? That's annoyed me ever since I saw it on the film's first theatrical release. The *** out of ***** is because we await it with anticipation.

To be fair, the artwork is personal preference. There are two versions of the 4K collection for these movies.Also, we haven’t seen the back artwork for the steelbooks so it might be somewhat better, only time will tell. Personally, I really like the vibe this gives off; very 60’s.
