Akro-Mils06318 Multi Compartment Hardware and Crafts Portable Organizer Storage Case, (18-Inch x 13-Inch x 4-Inch), Blue

I use this as a spare parts box for various "tools". It is perfect for holding little springs, detents, sights, muzzle devices, crush washers and I even have a few bolts & bolt carriers. It is divided into two sections. The top section is for smaller parts such as springs and detent, detent plungers, and the bottom section is for larger items such as fixed sights and bolt/bolt carriers. The top does secure nicely and I believe the lid does close flat against the compartments. I have had one or two super small springs find their way into other compartments, but they were not lost. That is completely acceptable to me. I do travel at times with this case, so it doesn't just sit flat on a work table. Therefore I do believe that it secures small parts quite nicely. It is customizable with the included plastic dividers that are very durable. I will add that I do have to get a knife or Exacto and trip the small pieces of plastic that connect the dividers together. It can interfere with the divider sliding freely into the slots. Once the divider is in the slot, it doesn't slide up or create gaps underneath for parts to intermingle. The fasteners that secure the lids do so very securely and I have never had any issues with either lid popping open unexpectedly. Sure you can find less expensive cases, but this case really solves the problem that one case alone cannot solve. It gives you a lower section where larger and/or longer items can be stored, (think of larger items that need deeper compartments) and it gives you a top section where smaller more delicate items can be stored. It is very difficult to find one case that can do it all. You can, but you end up having a large compartment or deep compartment that just has a few small springs in it. With this case, I don't feel like I'm wasting space. That's a good feeling. The handle is also very sturdy and as the description states, this is a very portable case.All in all a very good purchase for a very sturdy and functional parts case. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend it to my friends (and I have and my friends that have purchased it are very happy with the product.)

I'm using it to store electronic components in conductive bags, its is perfect because you can easily modify the length of compartments and role up the bags and put them in. for non sensitive stuff the rest of the compartments can be made smaller and work great. I really wish they would make a flat bottom version of this box out of conductive plastic for electronics, with perhaps slightly wider spacing, I would jump on those. It is very hard to find an ESD safe (faraday cage conductive) box with a handle at consumer level prices that is divided for storage.

Works great for screws, nuts, bolts and more!

This is the second one of these we've bought. We use this to organize sewing stuff. Well make, deep bins, separate top bin. Works.

These are excellent and can be used for everything and have lasted years getting dragged in, out, and around our house. Our existing 5 are used for fasteners, grommets, and any other small part that you can think of for electrical, woodworking, or plumbing. The ability to configure the heck out of these and throw them around without items shifting is what makes them a joy to use. Just make sure that you fasten the clear plastic top before you fling it open or you will spend a lot of time picking up whatever used to be in there. ;-)We are purchasing the 6118 because it looks like a 6x6 top versus the 8x8 top on these...useful for another tool used in our house - the sewing machine. We have outgrown the Plano toolbox that has been in service for about 30 years. Need better organization for spools and bobbins and it looks like the slightly larger spacing of the 6118 should work better after doing a mock-up in an existing 6318. Look for an update on the 6118 item once we receive it.

I purchased this to hold my daughters’ LOL doll accessories. This is so much better than I could have hoped for. LOL shoes are much smaller than Barbie shoes. I was worried that while they may stay in the holder, they would be jumbled around. Wrong. We put the shoes in and then my daughter shook it as hard as she could. All the shoes stayed in the same compartment. It also holds so much more than you would think. If it is this good for LOL accessories, it should have no issues keeping your nuts and bolts in their respective compartments.

I own a few of these and love them. works great and holds up to abuse. (to a point)

I searched for the best tool box to carry my LEGo minifigures and accessories. With other cases, the problem I keep running in to was the smaller pieces (hands, weapons, etc) would slide under the panel dividers. NOT WITH THIS CASE! This case is AWESOME! The dividers are interlocking with both the top and bottom lids. 10/10 highly recommended!
