This is a well written and helpful book.
My mom passed recently and, although she didn't write a similar book to help me cope, many messages of love and compassion are universal and should be shared to help with the grief of sudden aloneness. I now find myself reading lots on the subject of being an orphaned adult. Some help, some don't. Each one I've cried through some portion that is relatable, including this one. Many of these messages could have also come from my mom, even some of the recipes! My sincere gratitude goes out to the mother/daughter team for creating these loving messages. Whether you have grief in your life now or not, it's only a matter of time for us all and this book is a good experience to perhaps think ahead and prepare for regardless of your circumstances. For yourself and your loved ones. Highly recommended. 👉💕👈

Great Advice!
I love that everything is very similar to things my own mother told me before she passed. It's practical, yet funny! I was smiling and laughing throughout the book. I'd also like to thank you for all the recipes! They seem simple enough and sound delicious! Last I'd like to say the illustrations helped make the book even better! Can't wait to share this book with my own kids!!!

Very personal and authentic!
This is a very specific personal book written by a mother for her daughter. While the idea is sweet, it is really not relatable to everyone It is an inspiration to do something similar for our own children if we so desire. There are certainly great topics to choose from to replicate in our own messages.

Just What the Doctor Ordered!
The words on each page brought me comfort and healing as I remembered my mother and all of our times together. Each page was full of wisdom, truth , and plain common sense. Each page was meant to encourage and propel you forward in your life journey. No topic was ignored and no excuses accepted. The mantra of this book is to live, love, and get on with life, enjoying the simple things that make life worth living. While knowing that your memories of your loved one that was lost was more than enough to carry you through the remainder of your life’s journey. The comforting words and recipes came straight from a mother’s heart. It was just what the doctor ordered.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
Received this book today and literally could not put it down! It is cleverly written, honest & true to life. I giggled, laughed out loud, got teary eyed and cried. I will be adding little notes at various entries to make it more personal to my daughter, e.g. …. I’ve never made pecan pie in my life but your recipe sounds delicious so she should make it…. Well done Suzy Hopkins & Hallie Bateman. Thank you.

For Young Adults
Not what I expected. This book would be good for a younger daughter… older teen, college age, newly married. I bought it for someone older who just lost her mom so it did not work for me. I think this book would be nice for a mom who knows her time is drawing near and wants to prepare a younger daughter for life without her… maybe to make notes in the margins! One of the pages tell the daughter to use drugs during her childbirth and another to have kids. I bought it for someone who has grandchildren. It is definitely geared towards young adults.

Celebration of Life
I love how this book offers comfort and looks at death as a celebration of. It reminds us just because the person we loved has passed doesn't mean we have to stop living. It's a constant reminder to continue to celebrate the life we have and to continue loving ourselves.

Offensive book
I am so disgusted with this book. I thought I was buying and reading a book that might help me in the grieving process. It is definitely not that. It just rambles on about recipes and driving a car off a cliff and being trampled in a Black Friday sale and replacing your mother with someone else. Is there even a point to the book? Maybe she was trying to be funny? Let me tell you…there is nothing funny about losing your mother. I feel cheated and ripped off. Do NOT buy this book if you’ve lost a parent. It is very offensive to their memory.
