cheap entryway into meshtastic
managed to get a 70+km convo with this and a 1m 868mhz 8.5dbi antenna from my car, just dont direct mount a heavy antenna to it as it can damage the connector

Don't buy the 868Mhz get a 433 instead. Antennas are plentiful and cheap for 433 and LoRa works much better. The 868 Mhz managed 800 metres line of sight with 1 stock antenna and a colinear high gain 868 antenna on the second unit. The Meshtastic app isnt that great, seems it was written by someone who doesnt know software design and ease of use. Take a note, why did Nokia become mobile phone and SMS champions? Because the phones and apps were easy to use by anyone.
