GIS Tutorial for ArcGIS Pro 3.1 Fifth edition

Using for a GIS class. Good book and I like how it has exercises you can do.

If you are familiar as to the why's of ArcGIS pro this will be a good reference to learn 3.1. But if your new to GIS and are given this book, you will learn to follow the directions but other than that there are no "why's" in this book. Disappointed. It like saying you write code because you copied code correctly to your PC even though the code was written by someone else. Doesn't make you a coder it makes you a copier. No theory, no why's.

I bought this book to learn ArcGIS Pro. The book says it comes with a code that gives you 180 days of access to ArcGIS Pro for free. The code was no good which makes me wonder on the legitimacy of this book. Very problematic for learning a new software if someone does not have access to the software they want to learn. I do have access to a version of ArcGIS Pro through the university I used to attend. I am hoping I don't lose this access while learning it and hoping the license includes everything I need for the tutorials in this book. I would be leery of ordering this book from Amazon if you do not have another way to access ArcGIS Pro.
