The absolute best non “Apple” keyboard that’s available on Amazon
There is a reason Apple started stocking this in their official stores (at least I saw it there a few months ago). This is my second purchase, this time for my girlfriend. Reasons I think it’s a great product is that it shares important features with the official product that I didn’t see in the other Amazon alternatives.:1. Works seamlessly2. It has “smart connect”. I don’t think I saw this feature in any other keyboards here. This means you don’t have to “pair” it with your keyboard via Bluetooth to use it. Just slot it in and it works.3. It is not powered by its own internal battery but runs from the iPad. This means you don’t have to worry about the charge on the keyboard running out when you need it or need to carry ANOTHER charger with you. If your iPad is charged this works. And in my experience it doesn’t drain the battery from the iPad in any noticeable way. It obviously uses iPad battery but it doesn’t make iPad somehow last significantly shorter before needing to recharge.Other useful features:1. The shell and the keyboard can be detached. So if you don’t need the keyboard simply pull the iPad half off to watch it in bed or on a table. Reconnect by snapping back on with a magnet.2. The kick stand at the back is great for adjusting the angle. Comfortable for working/watching either when working or consuming media.3. Track pad and keys work well and the keys are back lit.4. Very robust shell. When the keyboard is attached it feels quite protective. Adds a bit of bulk but as expected. It becomes a mini computer.5. The little Apple Pencil holder is useful even if you don’t have the pencil. The little tab makes opening the iPad easier. You can even go rogue and use it for your own pen or pencil (you’re such a rebel!)6. Can often get for a good price on sale but it’s worth it at full price too if you are looking for a robust product. The above is based on the keyboard I got for myself. The second one for my girlfriend was only recently attached, should there be any issues I’ll update.

Satisfactory
I settled on the Logitech Slim Folio Keyboard Case for my 2025 A16 iPad as a compromise between the not so stellar reviews of lower cost options and the alarming price of Apple's own offering. It comes with a velvety-feeling plastic surface and seems quite sturdy. Fitting the iPad in it and setting up the Bluetooth connection was straightforward. It will close up with the iPad face down on the keyboard for protection, with the exception that the rear camera is a little vulnerable due to the cutout for it. If carrying it in a bag with other items, I will be putting it in a sleeve case for additional protection. The keys are full size, quiet and have a pleasant feel. Curiously, the "Setup Guide" available on the Logitech website describes a Siri key, which it does not have. The information about it says that it has "Three User Modes: Type, Sketch, and Read"."Type" is when the iPad is held at 58 deegres by a magnetic strip just behind the top row of keys. The keyboard is powered-up in this mode and there is no way to power it down to save the batteries. Hopefully the documented long battery life will mean this is not really an issue."Sketch" and "Read" are when the iPad is flat (the documentation says 10 degrees but it's variable due to the flexible plastic strip that forms a hinge) on top of the keyboard; it seems that if the case is flat on a surface in landscape orientation, that is considered "Sketch" and if it is in someone's hand in portrait orientation, that is considered "Read". Either way, the rear camera cannot be used because it is flat against the keyboard surface. While the iPad's power/fingerprint button is reasonably accessible, the two volume buttons are awkward to use and the cutout for them needs to be larger.Overall it is satisfactory.

iPad protection
Beautifully made, fits superbly, functions smoothly, enhances and protects my iPad. Very pleased. It may be a bit pricey- but quality like this and peace of mind is worth it. If you’re a serious user of your iPad this product is well worth consideration.

Classy, effective, and toddler proof
Initially got a different brand before a colleague recommended this product. It’s fantastic.Haha the best part is even after months of buying this case, once my tablet is closed my 2 toddlers have no idea it’s a tablet. It’s toddler proof because it’s simple and plain looking and stays shut. Also, the detachable/magnetic keyboard is brilliant. Love the fact that it doesn’t require Bluetooth. Someone plug and use
