Long lasting Product in ex excessive use worth it .
I brought one 13 years ago. Never been covered up or had it brought in for winter. Sadly it has broken ,so as the first one lasted so long . I have stuck with the same brand . There is only one problem that the hose pipe is not as robust as it used to be .

Great vakue
This is brilliantly made, and is really long at 40 meters so it reaches right down to the bottom of our garden. Overall just well made and effective. You do need a bit strength to pull the pipe the longest distance but other than that feel it is great buy and avoids messy pipe over the garden

Great retractable hose
For years I have suffered with leaking hoses that remain uncoiled thus making my patio a real mess. I had looked at wall mounted solutions in the past but when I saw this Hozelock 40m hose for only £130, I bit the bullet. The instructions seemed straightforward, but be warned, affixing to the wall is not the easiest of jobs. I used the correct drill size and the supplied raw plugs fitted but screwing in very difficult as the screws are quite long. In the end, I susstituted one of the top ones with a shorter screw which worked out well. I had put the mount to the left (as you look at it) of the tap assuming that the hose connected to that side. Wrong. It goes on the other side but luckily the connector hose was long enough to reach the other side and allowed the reel to swing in both directions. All connected, I walked to the end of the garden and had the tap switched on by someone. After a minute or so the water began to flow out and as I pulled on the hose, it released the mechanism and I could walk back with the hose retracting beautifully. And there were no leaks anywhere. This is a great value retractable hose and I have dropped one star because of a) the installation issues and b) the lack of a pistol spray head - only a nozzle is provided. This makes turning off the water a bit more complicated than it should be. But, I have ordered a spray gun now (not Hozelock as they are £23) and I am sure that will sort out this little niggle.

Great hose, always reels back in
A great garden hose which extends to its full length and then reels it all back in (you need to practice this to get it perfect each time) , in use over a year now. Needs careful positioning in the garden where you can get a permanent mains water supply. Might need a bit of plumbing for this.

Wet t-shirt time
Easily assembled to the wall but I used stronger screws to,attach it to the, wall,as it is heavier than I thought im

Brilliant
Brilliant, i have struggled for years with a hosepipe on the wall that you wrap around its frame.I thought i would treat myself, wish i would have got one of these years ago.wow so much easier than messing about with hose pipe that kinks and is a pain in the rear.Get one you wont be sorry. Thrilled real customer. its heaven. Simple pleasures.

Hozelock 40m Autoreel
Arrived in good time. Very easy to put up, providing you have a strong man to do it. I would suggest you do what we did, make a paper template from the swinging arm, then drill the 4 holes straight through the template into the wall. (It would have been better if Hozelock had included their own template). We did replace the 4 screws with stronger ones, and my husband also put nylon washers between the screw and the swinging arm, to save the screw crushing the arm, (again another thing Hozelock could include for next to no extra cost).I've tested the unit a couple of times so far - the auto reel facility will be a godsend to me. I've pulled the hose out to full length with water on, and inside the hose, then "walked" it back into the unit. The unit has a kind of hoop thing where the hose feeds onto the reel, which automatically moves back and forth, so the hose winds evenly onto the housing. It doesn't get bunched up in one place. I do have corners to go around, so should really order a couple of the corner accessories hoselock sell, but I'll see how I get on before going to that expense. Because of this, I found it quite hard to pull the hose, given that its rubbing on the corners of the house, quite hard, but not so you end up puffing or anything. In a straight line its a doddle, my granny could do it.Hoze lock only give you a basic sprayer at the end, infact its not even a sprayer, just a tap really, so you can't adjust the setting of the spray, or more importantly, turn the spray or water off at the end of the hose. I immediately replaced it with my usually multi spray hoselock gun, where you can turn the water on/off at the nozzle, so it wasn't a problem. Again, if you go to the expense of spending that much money on a hose, Hozelock should really provide an equally upmarket spray gun to go with it, not just the basic tap style one you get.All in all, bearing in mind I haven't used it much, I am really really pleased with this product. Its going to save me tons of time, not having to manually wind the hose, and will be a lot easier on the arms I would think. You will need someone strong to put up the hose itself. I could put up the arm easy enough, but wasn't strong enough to lift the unit onto the arm once I'd done it.

Don't expect long term use
Don't expect to get many years of service out of this, wind up mechanism will start to fail and hose will not be able retract.Had worked OK for a few years but got progressively worse where the hose wouldn't retract fully in and had to constantly pull it all out again, this issue becomes more difficult if the hose is still holding water.Considering the expense, it's not worth the cost investment and you're better off with either a wind up system or a bracket to wrap the hose on.
