Extremely great steel and will hold a sharp edge very long time. Suggest using leather to sharpen.

Lovely set
This set is not only lovely, but it works well also. They are heavy, sit well in the hand, and the knife carves beautifully. I love that Henckels makes great knives but has not priced them through the roof like other popular brands.
