OwletCam 2 - Smart Baby Monitor Camera - Stream Secure HD Video and Audio with Night Vision, 4X Zoom, Wide Angle View and Sound, Motion and Cry Notifications - Bedtime Blue

This is a nice camera with great features. I purchased this so that my husband and I could see our child while we are at work through Wi-Fi. It was very easy to set up you just download the app and follow the instructions on your phone. The camera will tell you the humidity and room temperature in your room and if it’s a comfortable environment for your child, it also has playback, audio, and background noise which you can turn off it the settings. The camera quality is very nice. It also has night vision and based on your Wi-Fi connection the first image quality is usually great. Through the app you can choose to have notifications tell you when your child is crying or like loud noises , however, I chose not to opt for that because if your child tends to cry a lot the notifications can get quite annoying. One downside that I found to this camera is that you have to manually rotate the camera whereas my other baby monitor camera be rotated from the monitor itself. It would be nice if you could rotate the camera from your phone that should be a feature they consider adding in the future. Also I usually will watch my phone and my other baby monitor screen while I’m in the house and I have noticed that there is a bit of a lag in the video playback with the Owlet camera compared to my other baby monitor camera. I use this camera in conjunction with the Owlet Dream sock. Overall I think this was a great purchase and I would recommend it to any new parent

I typically try to stick to just writing positive reviews for products I love - but this monitor system is SO bad, I feel compelled to warn people. We had a standard, nothing-fancy Motorola system with our first baby. The portable screen broke after a couple years so we tried something new with baby #2. We’d always heard this brand was top of the line. Within 3 months of my son being born, this system has failed us miserably. The camera itself is not a clear picture - especially at night when we use it most - and that’s when it’s actually WORKING! In the last week, we haven’t been able to see it at all. It just is a blank screen trying to connect and then gives us a ‘camera is offline’ message. The camera problem was so bad, we started just using it for the audio background on our phones. Now THAT isn’t working. We have excellent internet, so that’s not the issue. No other problems with electronics in the house (we have a series of other cameras, smart plugs, etc) which leads us to believe this system is the issue…and created a LOT of frustration for this new momma. It’s very possible we just got a lemon since others have no issues. But I cannot recommend this monitor system based on the problems we’ve had in just a few short weeks.

This is a great camera. It is very sensitive to sound and it has a very clear picture. You can turn on background noise, which lets you hear the nursery even when your phone is locked or on another app. Overall I am very pleased. Exactly what I was hoping for in a monitor for my babies room.

Giving it 3 stars it worked once I could finally get it to connect to the app but didn’t know you couldn’t turn it off when not using so I unplugged it and then I could never get it to reconnect when I needed to use it again. Super frustrating and it doesn’t come with very good instructions for use. I will be sending it back and looking for a different monitor.

My baby had a heart transplant at 5 months old, so monitoring her is very important to us. We have the owlet sock and love it and were hoping to add the cam 2 for additional monitoring overnight and during naps.Unfortunately, the cam we received would not turn on at all and had adhesive all over the front of it. No red light, nothing telling us it was ready to pair.We're pretty disappointed but I guess we will try returning this one and getting another on the off chance we just got a dud.Unfortunately, we bought this cam during a Black Friday sale, we can no longer get it for the sale price, and Amazon only offered us the option to return the item, not to replace it.Update: bought directly from Owlet and it worked perfectly.
