Q: what are the dimensions of this item

A standard 1.5" pool hose will NOT fit over the "barb" end of this item.

Q: Where do I find strainer adaptor that fits on top of the skimmer so that debris will be caught in the strainer?

I have found that if you get the intex skimmer that fits insidethe pool (attachesto the side) youl have to place a thin straining mesh in the bottom of the skimmer housing (at the outlet) to prevent small peices of debris from getting clogged in the pool water outlet strainer to which this adapter attaches. Otherwise, you constantly have to detach the adapter from the pool water outlet strainer to clean out the debris. Because this must be done inside the pool, the escaping debris must be captured manually via net to pevent it from recycing through the skimmer and back in to the outlet strainer to clog it up again. Hopefull by putting the straining mesh inside the skimmer housing, this cloggingwill occur at the skimmer level and not underwater at the outlet level.

BillyJ., yes this will fit the ultra frame intex pool. I had to cut the hose and use an adjustable cable clamp to attach.
