AFX Super Int'l Set w/Fast Pack & 2 Tri Power Packs

As advertised, delivered quickly. Now time to setup and wow the grand children.

I thought an AFX slot car set would be a lot of fun to pass time on breaks at work. My coworkers and I were discussing the fun times racing slot cars when we were kids. So we went in on this set. It seemed like a really good set and there were enough cars we could all race at the same time.The set arrived quickly.But when my daughter and I set it up to try it out there were obvious problems.First of all the track fitment is not good. The tracks did not snap together well and if you are a little clumsy you can get the power rails miss aligned and create a bump when the car goes over the joint. Also, it appears you can get dead sections. I was able to make it usable with a lot of adjusting tracks but it was annoying.Secondly the controllers have very poor resolution. This is a real problem.In beginner mode you just hold the trigger in all the time and the cars drive about the track in a sedate manner. This is fun for a while.In intermediate and expert modes it appears to be either off or wide open. There is a sweet spot mid trigger pull, but you pull the trigger another tiny amount and you are wide open and the car rockets off the track at the next corner.If you try to compensate by letting off completely before the corner there is a good chance you will come out of the corner too slow and hit a dead spot in the track. The car won't move until you push the car forward.The cars seemed good and performed well especially if you add a little weight.If you buy better controllers and screw down the track the set could be fun I suppose.But it was expensive enough as it was.For the money it is not worth the effort.However, I was able to return the track and got my money back right away.If I were to do a better job of researching a track to buy I would definitely check out offerings from my seller. I have nothing bad to say about the people I bought this from.

Great sevice

I thought this would be a nice gift for my grand kids. However the race track itself was easy enough to set up but the plastic bridges don't hold up and the lanes operate differently so there's an advantage to using the inner lane opposed to the outer lane and one of the lanes the electric charge doesn't hold and car goes slower than the other lanes.
