Sturdy, resistant but
Great boom arm, if you have some money and can overspend buy it thought keep in mind alot of cheaper alternatives are out there. What i'll say is its done me well and not an issue. Sturdy and clearly good quality, BUT YOU NEED TO have a microphone with some weight behind it or the arm will be moving by itself.

I skimped on the mic arm before - never again
I was someone who thought alli needed for decent sound was a decent mic and compressor, and what bit of change I had left I bought a cheap arm, because why not, it makes no difference to the sound surely... Well that just showed how naive I was. I then threw good money after bad, buying shock absorber, when I knew the arm isn't strong enough (despite claims otherwise,a comment I since read all the time). What's worse is those cheap arms have METAL springs to try hold the weight. Metal springs twang and vibrate at the very slightest touch or nudge of the desk, even using keyboard the vibrations ran up the cheap stands.. and my quality mic recorded it all very nice and clear. At that point I knew I needed a stand I occasionally saw with no springs, that's this one, it cost 3* as much, and I can only suggest if you are gonna bother buying an arm because you understand that having the mic near your mouth matters, then don't skimp on a twangy arm. This holds my 3 year old blue yeti pro and associated shock absorber/pop guard with zero issues.

Don’t cheap out, buy this!
I purchased a much cheaper stand and immediately regretted it. Having now installed the Rode stand, I can attest to how the price reflects the quality.

Well worth the premium price
There are a tonne of cheap boom arms available, and that is exactly what they are: cheap in every possible respect. After checking a lot of youtube videos, I finally decided that I was going to spend proper money rather than try to skimp on this. And once I unboxed the arm, I was was absolutely delighted with my decision. This is a really beautiful, sturdy, fully functional, solid boom arm, and probably the best thing you can buy for that sort of money. (I recall when I bought it that it was way better according to many of the reviews than the Blue equivalent.)I bought this for my Blue Yeti, have been using it constantly for the last 2 years, and am still delighted with my decision. If you're serious about recording audio, you need an arm, and you don't want to get a cheap arm, period. Get this instead, I still think it's the best thing you can get for any price range really.
