Well worth it
I bought one to try it. I found it to be exactly what I had hoped for. It was smallish, meaning not huge like some of the products for solar are. It was not made of cheap plastic. The Crank worked well. The light was the most important thing. It was very bright for the size. I was worried that it would not light up well and I wanted a small solar light that I could pack well when I travel that would not be to heavy but that would be effective and light up an area. I wanted something that in an emergency would not need batteries and that if the solar ran out in the night, could be cranked to give sufficient light. I wanted to give these to my grandchildren for Christmas. My grandchildren are newborn to 17 years old. I wanted them to have their own lights in the night if the lights went out in a storm and that they could crank if the night was extra long and the solar went out. The light had to be bright enough to be effective for a child and also an adult. So I bought one for myself to first try. I was really impressed. I have carried it with me in my travels ever since as it is light, small, tough, and bright and charges very well by sun. I bought 23 more for the grandchildren. They are going to love them.

Tough and well made
I purchased 3 wind up emergency flashlights at my local hardware store, and have only used them infrequently. Unfortunately, even with light use, 2 out of 3 broke within a year or two. Since I really don't like to waste money on items that break so easily, I searched around a lot before getting this particular rechargable flashlight. It has an added bonus of having a small solar panel to help it charge, but the value I find it in is as simple as the feel of the flashlight in my hand. It's very sturdy and heavy. I can tell that it's parts are no where near as flimsy as the previously mentioned flashlights. This is a really tough little flashlight, and it's working great so far. The extended warranty from the company is reassuring. Great, bright light. Easy crank handle that has a good solid feel to it, easy to work. Tiny solar charger built in. Multifunction light (including flashing). If I had to stock a few more emergency kits, this would be my first choice for a flashlight.

Lights, dont know how long it will last. Medium bright.
Nice shape and size. Solar not impressive, but crank might work. Have not used it a lot. Cant say if it will last.Light bright for short distance maybe 3 ft, but beyond that low illumination. If it was dark, and you were looking for a nut on the ground 5 ft down, not bright enough.

wonderful item
I was searching for a crank style flashlight to go in a Christmas Shoe Box gift that would be going over seas to someone who may not have electricity or somewhere to buy batteries. I searched all our local stores to no avail. Went on line and found this product. It is also solar and water proof so a very special item. We tried it out as soon as we got it and were very impressed. The LED lights are very bright. This would be a great item just to have in the house for power outages, or camping etc. And for what it does it is at a great price.

Excellent Flashlight - solar panel charges quickly and is very bright
Excellent Flashlight - solar panel charges quickly and is very bright. I was replacing an LL Bean Solar/Wind up, where the on/off button rubber cover was no longer seating correctly. Smaller solar/wind up flashlights weren't bright enough, so I tried this - glad I did ! I use it for reading late at night , which means 1 (of 3) LED lights will be on for couple hours without winding - this one does it with plenty of charge to go ! Well made and sturdy -

Decent product
Pretty handy. It can be a little brighter though.

The best!
We absolutely love this flashlight! It works so well and we are truly impressed. It provides good light for longer than I have ever seen for this type of flashlight. Others that we have used are more of a novelty and truly not that functional. This one is different and I love the fact that it is waterproof. You can get others that have more bells and whistles, but you will NOT be getting the quality flashlight that this one is.

A must have for power outages or keep in your car
I bought a few of these flash lights because our church was going on a mission trip to Haiti. The fact that they were water proof to rain exposure, hand crank to charge, and solar chargingpanel on light made it a must for out of the major city's was a plus. I kept one for my home emergencyuse or just grab it off the window sill to use. For its size it is rather bright and appears to be able to takea few bumps and keep going.
