Q: Is the mount head 90 degrees to the base?

The camera support is angled relative to the base and our product description states the following. Smart Imaging: the 29-inch tilt angled and height-adjustable aluminum post is unique and the only one available on the market; the tilt increases the imaging field (as the camera is raised) and prevents the post from obstructing it.

Q: What is the camera weight limit for this stand?

I use a Nikon D90 with a 40mm macro lens. It is very stable. I use it to copy my film strips for editing in Lightroom. It helps with the sharpness if you use a cable release or delayed shutter.
