Although these are primarily marketed as gutter leaf guards, they can also be used to prevent pests such as squirrels and mice from entering your homes downspouts. They are quite malleable and can be easily squeezed into the proper shape to fit in the typical 4"x3" downspouts. One has to be careful of the sharp edges on one end, but by handling them by the other end and sides, they can be shaped to fit the downspout opening. I did have a bit of trouble with one or two of my downspouts and was not able to shove them in quite as far as I would have liked, but got them in far enough so that I think they will stay and as long as they block the entrance to the downspout, they should serve their purpose.

This is an excellent product If you can access your gutters to clean them out periodically. Nothing but the smallest of debris gets through the screen, and these small pieces easily flush through the gutter downspouts. If you cannot access your gutters to clean the debris out periodically then a full gutter screening system would be better.

Difficult to bend to the shape needed in my gutters.I would have returned but bent several pieces trying to install.

They are adjustable in side which was great!! Be careful they are sharp!
