Dihl Replacement Chrome Automatic Motion Sensor Bin Lid for Dihl & Morphy Richards 30L, 42L, 50L

Perfect replacement for the original one that stopped working after seven years!

Ordered this to replace our old one that had lasted over 10 years. I was about to order a complete new bin when I saw this and am I glad I did? You bet! It fits my existing bin perfectly and works just fine. I love the sensor as I don’t have to touch the bin at all - very useful when doing anything messy, and I find foot pedal bins break easily. It looks great in the kitchen and, to our amusement, visiting kids have demonstrated our “magic bin” to their friends. A hit all round!

The last one we had lasted for at least two years, so de decides to by it again, the only downside is that is that the movement sensor is very sensitive, and make the batteries last less time, since it opens if you walk in front of it.

This is a great fit for the Morphy Richards 42L bin. It's slightly taller than the original, at 10cm, but doesn't look out of place at all.The lid motor seems to have a bit more of a responsive and positive action compared to the original (which I'm replacing after 4 years, so no complaints). I'm also getting less accidental automatic openings as the sensor faces upwards rather than outwards towards the front.The inclusion of dedicated Open and Close buttons is great for when longer lid-open times are needed. An additional bonus is that when opened automatically, with the sensor, the lid stays open while it detects you are still there!It is shiny, time will tell how easy it is to keep clean. An all-black version is available if that's preferred.Overall, cheaper and less wasteful than buying a whole new bin. I recommend this lid.

Works great and a cheaper option than replacing the whole bin

The media could not be loaded. This is the 2nd replacement lid I’ve purchased in about 4 years (they’re all naturally built to be quite flimsy) however, this is by far the worst replacement ever.The sensor function only works once or twice and you then have to flick the switch at the back off and on to reset. After the reset it goes back to only working once or twice as can be seen in the video.If you don’t intend to use the sensor function, it seems ok enough (do agree with other reviews that it is flimsy) but if you want the sensor then do not buy!
