Great for the price!

This game pad is great! I got it as a gift for my partner who’s obsessed with fighting games (a tragedy), and he said the controls feel great and it’s easy to use. I personally really like the sound of the buttons and joystick, and found the weight to be a bit hefty.

Perfect to start with

I bought mine used and I would never imagine it because it looks and feels like new! the buttons are snappy and satisfying to press, the box in itself isn't too heavy, but just hefty enough for it not to fly all over the placeand connecting it to my PS4 was actually really easy, despite the many tutorials that I saw (from some 5 years-ish ago, mind you) I just had to plug it in while the game was loading and BOOM! the PS4 would recognize it as a legacy controller and I could feel as if I were play on an arcade machine againhighly recommend for anyone that's new to buying arcade sticks to buy this one as your first

Affordable and Versatile Arcade Stick – Great for Beginners and Enthusiasts Alike

As an old time fan of fighting games and arcade classics alike, I decided it was time to finally try an arcade stick for my PC and PS3 gaming sessions. I didn’t want to spend over $100, especially since I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it. After researching various options, I chose the Mayflash F300. Here’s my detailed experience with it so far:Build and Design:The Mayflash F300 impressed me right out of the box. It’s compact yet sturdy, striking a perfect balance between portability and stability. I was expecting lower quality from anything under 100$ so I was pleasantly surprised. The stick has a solid weight that keeps it in place during intense gameplay, but it’s still comfortable to use on your lap. The rubber feet on the bottom provide good grip, though a cushioned base would have been a nice addition for extra comfort.Buttons and Joystick:The stock buttons and joystick are responsive and clicky, offering a satisfying tactile feel that’s comparable to higher-end models like the Mad Catz Tournament Edition and arcade sticks. I’ve tested it extensively with games like Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, and Metal Slug, and it performs flawlessly. While the square gate joystick is precise, I’m considering swapping it for an octagonal gate for a different feel – a testament to its easy modding potential.Compatibility and Functionality:The F300 is versatile and easy to set up. It’s plug-and-play on both PC and PS3, supporting both Xinput and Dinput modes seamlessly. This means it can act like an Xbox controller on PC and a standard joystick on PS3, providing flexibility across different games. The switch between DPad and joystick modes is especially handy for different game types. It also features a Turbo button, which is a nice bonus for certain games.Modding Potential:One of the standout features of the Mayflash F300 is its modding potential. The back panel easily screws off, revealing a layout that makes swapping parts a breeze. The buttons snap in and out, and the cables are color-coded for straightforward customization. While the joystick uses microswitches rather than a 5-pin connector (like those on higher-end sticks), an adapter can solve this if you want to upgrade to a Sanwa JLF or Hori Hayabusa stick.Value for Money:Overall, the Mayflash F300 is an excellent entry-level arcade stick. It competes well with more expensive models, offering great performance at a fraction of the cost. Whether you’re new to arcade sticks or looking for a budget-friendly option, this stick is a fantastic choice.Pros:Sturdy and compact designResponsive buttons and joystickEasy plug-and-play setup for PC and PS3Great modding potentialExcellent value for the priceCons:No cushioned base, only rubber feetJoystick upgrade requires an adapter

I love this stick

I love this stick,I could end the review with that and give it 5 stars and call it a day, however I'll tell you why I love this stick. (I mean this is a review right lol)First of all let me start off by saying I'm no stranger to this stick,I bought a used older Mayflash stick that was modded with Sanwa parts off ebay and so I kind of knew what I was getting into with this. I love the fact that this stick is so easy to mod with Sanwa parts and was a huge selling point for me,the stock parts are alright but I doubt that they last,I play top level mvc2 and for those of you who are reading this and are into fighters, you already know how that goes,so I'm going to be needing some pretty damn durable parts that will last,Sanwa parts is the answer to that, another brand I'm familiar with.I also love this stick because it's compatable with PC,PS3,PS4,XBONE and I'm not sure but I think you can use this on your 360 as well. I think for the newer consoles, the Playstation 4 and Xbox one, respectively, you need the stock controller to get the stick to work but I haven't tried that. I use this joystick on my Playstation 4 with Street Fighter V but I use it as a legacy controller, aka a Playstation 3 controller,so I haven't tried to use this as a Playstation 4 joystick just as of yet because I have no need to. I may be thinking too much (I'm guilty of that at times!) but why would I pay all this money for a madcatz "fightstick" that's only compatible with one system or the other when I can get a stick that's compatible with multiple systems at a much cheaper price. I don't know, that's just how I see it. I know and understand that this stick is not going to be for everybody but it definitely fits my needs. The modding capability was probably the main selling point for me,the older Mayflash sticks took alot of work to mod (including soldering) but this stick is much easier to mod and I'm sure this was done on purpose by the makers of the stick,so kudos goes to them for that. In case you're interested in the sanwa mod, you'll need a Sanwa JLF stick, the 8 sanwa buttons (both of these can be bought here on Amazon) and you'll need a PCB Encoder 5 pin female wire/cord or something like that it's called, you can find this on Focusattack.com,I didn't find it here on amazon, this will be used to connect the sanwa stick to the PCB of the Mayflash stick and yes it is mandatory so just go ahead and spend the 5 bucks on it. (The cord itself is 75 cents but the S and H for me was 4 bucks,so that's about 5 bucks altogether give or take, since the S and H might be more or less depending on where you're at)Oh and in reference to what I said earlier about the older Mayflash stick needing to be soldering, this one doesn't need that, you just pull out (CAREFULLY!) the wires from the stick and buttons,it's not a hard mod at all and if you're careful it should go smoothly.I guess I can't really say anything about the stock parts (parts that came with the joystick) since I just tried them out and didn't play with them over a long period of time so I don't know how durable they are but they feel alright,it's not sanwa quality but it's close enough,so if you're just really casual you probably could just skip the mod altogether but if you play fighters every day like I do,you might wanna think about doing that mod. It's about 60 bucks or so for everything needed for the mod of stick and buttons, more if you want an 8 way restricter gate or a different stick or w/e but my mod came up to about 60 bucks. It's a cheaper alternative to the mega expensive mad catz sticks which are about $250 or so (with S and H included). I don't know about you but I'm all about saving money so for me this stick definitely meets my needs, the mod went smoothly and I may purchase another one in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read this review,if you do purchase the stick I hope you enjoy it as I'm enjoying mines, take care!

Great and budget friendly.

So far, I've only used it for PC gaming, but it's pretty great for complicated inputs for fighting games. I can reliably execute Geese Howard's raging storm super move with this thing (the pretzel motion.) It's also useful how in Street Fighter 4, the rightmost buttons cover all 3 punches of kicks, which helps assure execution of ultra moves on demand. The fact it's heavy is a nice bonus, there are rubber legs you can mount, to prevent scratches on surfaces. It looks like I would also be able to use the same spot to mount this to a surface like a TV tray.
