Necessary with my Sony camera.
I have a Sony camera. I swear every single time I remove the lens, a spot gets on my sensor. These swabs make it an easy job to get the spots off. A photo store will charge you as much as $100 to clean a sensor. As long as you are gentle, you can do that yourself.

Perfect for taking care of your camera
Excellent wiper, very gentle on the mirror, light spray and gently sweep, it leaves no streaks what do ever. I love that this comes in individual packs so I can carry some with me as I'm out and about. So far I've cleans all of my Nikon Full Frame cameras with these, Nikon D3, D700, F2 without fear. Very easy to use, and best value for money. If you care about the longevity of your camera, you'll invest in this.

Perfect way to clean sensor if you use the right cleaning fluid.
I have been using pecpads and eclipse fluid to clean my sensors for many years. In the past I used a homemade tool (cardboard strip cut to sensor sized) covered with a pecpad. With these dry cleaning pads, i applied about 3 drops of fluid to each side of the pad, and did one swipe left to right, and using the other side of the pad a swipe from right to left. Some other reviews said they had smearing on the sensor which is probably not the swabs fault, but more likely the cleaning fluid. Using Eclipse Optical Cleaning fluid and these swabs are a perfect combo.

Four was the Charm
I have used many Sensor Swabs in my day. So, not my first rodeo at it. Yet, this last go around was scary.Usually, just one pass one way and tilt the swab for one pass the other way; toss the swab to the bin and I'm done. Not this time on a brand new camera. Had a very dark spot show up right in the center of frame. Visible through the view finder. It wouldn't blow out. Smudged worse with the first swab. Must have been some left over shutter lubricant. After three swabs, I was about to send camera back to the factory. Long pause and a fourth swab. Clean-!!!!!The AAWipes worked. Super product.Always remember to use a swab for only one pass, tilt and one pass back. Any second pass on the same side of a swab runs the risk of sensor damage by dragging what the swab picked up on first pass back over and grinding it into the sensor.Swabs are inexpensive. Senors are not.

Works like a charm on my Sony a7iii full-frame sensor, but NOT for crop sensors!
These swabs performed beautifully on my Sony a7iii full-frame sensor, used with highly-recommended "Eclipse Optic Cleaning Fluid" (0.5 fl oz). There is a great YouTube video entitled "How to clean your Sony sensor" to follow for the safest and most effective sensor cleaning for your mirrorless Sony camera. The swab sticks are plastic and the cleaning end is a very fine type of fabric? It absorbs 2 drops of the solution well, without over-saturating the swab. Don't leave the swab to dry out, because the solution evaporates quickly. One pass one direction using one side of the swab 'blade'....another couple of drops on the flip side of the swab, and a final pass going the other direction on the sensor. That's all you need to do. Then be sure to dispose of the used swab. NEVER re-use it, and NEVER use the same side of the swab twice.I just wanted to reiterate that these full-frame sized sensor cleaning swabs are exactly wide enough for the opening of the camera body and sensor size, but you will NOT be able to use them on a crop sensor camera like a Sony a6300, as the opening where you get to the sensor is not tall enough to accommodate the width of this swab. So, no, this is not a 'one size fits all' solution. You will need to purchase a separate pack of crop-sensor swabs if you own a non-full frame camera.
