I love it for the price I paid.
It seems these have been discontinued, and it may have been a "closeout" price when I got mine. But there may still be some old stock for sale at various pricesI am very happy with the pump for the price I paid. However, reading the manual it seems this is not such a heavy-duty pump: "The operating life of this breast pump is defined to be approximately three 15-minute sessions per day, for one year" Not great is exclusively pumping, but probably fine for occasional use. If I had paid list price, I'd be disappointed (but I didn't pay that much)

Fantastic Pump for Efficiency and Comfort
I absolutely love my Medela Sonata! I’ve read that it’s like the little sister to the Symphony, and I definitely agree—it has more suction power compared to other Medela pumps. One of my favorite features is that it comes with a battery, so I don’t feel plugged into the wall all the time, but still get excellent suction. While it’s not a wearable pump (and as someone with a larger chest, wearables aren’t really for me), it’s incredibly convenient and efficient. The flanges and mechanisms are fantastic! Some people think it has too many pieces, but I disagree—there are only four parts to clean, and they have minimal nooks and crannies, so there’s very little scrubbing involved. I also love how sleek and compact the design is.As for the app, I’m not a fan. I think Medela could improve it, but honestly, I don’t use it much since the pump itself works so well. The pump is pretty quiet, lightweight, and has multiple settings for expression mode that you can easily adjust during your pumping session. It also has a handy timer to automatically turn off, so you don’t overdo it.I highly recommend this pump if you're looking to increase your supply. Overall, it’s been an excellent addition to my routine. Happy pumping!

Glitchy from day one, but still the best pump.
First of all, this thing has glitches. They might even start from the first time you use it. Why am I still giving it 5 stars? So far, glitches are all they are, and they're manageable. The comfort of the breast shields on this pump is by far the best I've experienced, and the suction is on par with a hospital pump, even when it's not plugged in and running portable. I have a large chest, so the rims of pump shields will invariably cut into my breast tissue; these have a soft rim, so it's more comfy than others. The kit also comes with two sizes of flanges, the second being a smaller size instead of a bigger one (like a Spectra comes with), so that's a plus for me, since I need the smaller flange. The extras are nice, like the little bottle holder and the freezer pack - I've definitely used these. The pump is overall quite portable and I can generally pump at least twice without charging it, which I don't usually do, because of the glitches. Which I'll go into now.The glitches seem to be related to the power cord or the connection with the cord. You need to really watch when it's plugged in and make sure it's making a connection - you should see the little lightning bolt to indicate it's plugged in, and it should stay steadily lit. If it's not, you need to unplug it and replug it, mess with the cord position, whatever works. You will definitely see the thing come on with CALL on the display, indicating it's broken and you need to call customer service. If it's plugged in when that happens, unplug it, then turn it off. When you turn it back on, it should be fine again. If not, turn off again and back on again until it clears. It happens to me multiple times a day, from day one, but so far it hasn't been actually broken and I haven't had to really call. It definitely freaked me out the first time it happened, though. As long as the glitches stay mere annoyances, I'm very satisfied with this pump. It's as comfortable as pumping can get, portable, powerful even without being plugged in, and as effective as a Symphony. It takes a little patience sometimes, but it's overall very worth the price to me. (I paid for it, since I got a Spectra with my insurance, and this one wasn't offered.)

Fixed everything I hated about the PISA and still better than spectra
I LOVE this pump. Here’s why (mainly compared to the PISA). Totally worth the 400 (even though insurance covered it 100%)1) cleaning the parts is a million times better. I despise those small white membranes. I love these parts. They go in the dishwasher without getting lost and are so much easier to handle. They’re way more comfortable.2) rechargable battery! I only get about 4 pumps, but this is amazing. Pump in the car. Learning the charger at my desk and instead of having to plug one more thing in at the comfort room. Easily pump where you need without replugging in. This is a life saver.3) interface - love the timer, and ease of touching buttons. I often pump on one side while feeding and find it immensely easier than the Pisa. I can use my toes to switch letdown, increase speed, etc.4) super easily switch from single to double pumping. As stated above, I switch every morning between single and double pump and this is so simple. The spectra is really difficult to do this (bring a butter knife)5) super quiet. I join conference calls all the time and have no concerns. The Pisa is soooo Loud.ConsI’m a little worried about the long term quality of this. I think they released it too soon. It makes weird noises sometimes and had a ping.Parts are expensiveParts do not fit any current adaptors (storage systems, feemies, tommee tippee bottle adaptors)Even with the cons, this is 100% the best choice I made. I have three PISAs from my previous baby and I threw all those away. What a world of difference. I also make plenty of milk and have NO issues at all with production on this.
