This is the second time ordering this litter box. in the past after using for about a year or so i thought it too big for my cat and was concerned i was wasting too much litter. i then went to a smaller litter tray for a while. i house the litter pan in my ensuite shower. the smaller litter tray meant that litter was being kicked up over the sides of the pan into the shower and the floor. after years of getting vacuum out on regular basis to keep shower floor and surrounding area clean i decided to go back to this litter box. i am glad i did. litter is staying in it and not being flung all over. what i initially liked about the product still stands - easy to clean with soap and water, easy to dispose of litter, just lift and pour straight into garbage bag.

Here is my 30 years of experience having a cat, this is what you need: this litter box, the litter genie, a litter mat, unscented clay litter and your commitment to scoop the box once a day because you love your pet and it's important to them. No need to read on unless you want more detail. Litter boxes: they're gross to clean, they're too small, they're too short, poop and urine get on the lids, drip down the sides, they're hard to carry around. This litter box solves several problems: it has groundbreaking handles! It has a pour spout for easy empty when you need to change the litter! It is large so kitty has plenty of room and doesn't try antics like half standing on the rim while doing the business. It has tall sides so your cat a) doesn't get as much litter everywhere and b) doesn't do the thing where they try to tear off the side of the litter box while trying to cover their waste. The sloping sides just guide your kitty's paw down into the litter where they can still ineffectively cover their waste but with much less noise. It is so easy to clean outside with a hose. About the litter genie: I try to avoid disposable plastics but I have given in on this one. Works just like a diaper genie and it's an outstanding improvement to the cat lover's lifestyle. No more odor and you empty it every so often when it's full. About litter: I have tried every kind of biodegradable litter - wheat, soy, husks, potato pellets, corn - all failed in the long run. Tofukitty was the only bio litter that was great and it's discontinued, so I have made peace with clay. I use Scoop Away Unscented - you don't need that gross heavy grandma perfume invading your whole house because you have the litter genie. It clumps well, not too dusty, and picky cats are okay stepping on it (cats can get sensitive about their paws).
