Good Boot for Winter Storms -- Wouldn't Work as an Everyday Boot
I bought these because I didn't have extreme cold weather boots that are water resistant for when we get noreasters in January in NJ and you gotta go shovel out, or to put in your trunk in case your car gets disabled. I suppose if you are into camping or hiking you could do that in these boots. This is not an everyday boot. They are too big and heavy because of the insulation and waterproofing. Any boot that is comfortable for wearing when it isn't snow storming is not going to be enough when it is snow storming. The specs on these stated good to 40F below zero. I question that because I was in the USAF for 10 years stationed in Minot ND, and these boots would not be enough for extended periods in that extreme of a temperature. But again, boots that really are appropriate for -40F would be so huge and uncomfortable you wouldn't want to wear them when it is 10F.Does run a little small in size, so if you are on the border, order the next size up and not the next size down.

Defect Boots
I would like to bring to your attention that this pair of boots are so defective that it CANNOT be worn at all. I wore it for my holidays in Korea and my holidays were ruined. Winter Boots is the most important essential item during winter outing. It should be warm and most importantly WATER PROOF, but this pair of KAMIK winter boots failed miserably. Even in normal/light rain, water practically flows in freely into my boots and in no time at all my socks were soaking wet. Imagine, it was few degree Celsius with cold winds blowing and I am WET! Kindly also note that water seeped from the sole ( bottom ) as can be seen clearly from the pattern of water on the wet socks of both boots )!My selection of KAMIK winter boots is because the company is established in 1898 and one of the most reputable, trustworthy and oldest Canadian winter shoe maker in the world. Now I guess my selection of Kamik Men's Fargo Boot is WRONG.The quality of the boots is below standard, ambiguous and should not be sold at all. Being wet in the winter is killing. This is a waterproof boot as stated clearly in the description of product, however my boots failed in this most important aspect.Awfully, I had to endure the excruciated cold, wet and numbness in toes for six consecutive days of my holidays in Korea.

So far ... so good ... but have not put them to the test in cold Minnesota winter conditions yet
So far ... so good ... but have not put them to the test in cold Minnesota winter conditions. I believe that once we have some snow and cold this year, I'll take them outside for a whirl and report back.UPDATE - January 12, 2018 - I finally got the opportunity to takes these bad boys for a stroll in -10 degree Fahrenheit conditions and I have to say that I'm impressed. I was out for about an hour and a half trek and these boots totally kept my feet super warm and dry. Snow conditions were "non-wet/non-slushy" snow so I'm assuming that's the conditions that these boots are made for ... pretty much arctic. Therefore, if you live in areas considered "Frozen Hell" (i.e. Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Northern/Northwestern Canada, Northern Alaska, Northern Quebec, "Outdoor Hockey Heaven"), then these boots are fantastic and you'll love them forever. If you live in areas that are considered "semi-winter" (i.e. It rains in the winter where you live ..... OR .... you are surrounded by slush and/or "wet" snow instead of "powder" snow), then you may want to purchase a boot that is more suited for cold, rainy conditions.

No question about it these are the best boot I have ever worn
I am 72 years old and have bought more pairs of boots than I can remember. No question about it these are the best boot I have ever worn! Some of the features I was looking for were boots that would keep my feet warm in our subzero temps. A big concern since I have in the past caused damage to the nerves of both feet due to frostbite. They pass that test with flying colors. I wanted a shorter boot so I could easily slip in and out of them to take the dog outside. These are perfect w/o the removable liner, everything inside the boot stays in place. Would I recommend to a friend? Doing so tonight. Thanks for the great product.

He said they fit good with minimal foot slop
I answered the fit question with as somewhat small. My husband ordered an 11 in a different pair by the same manufacturer and they ran a bit small. He ordered these a full size in a 12 bigger because they didn’t run in half sizes. He said they fit good with minimal foot slop. He also said they perform as good as his old Sorels that had worn out from use. The length up the leg is very adequate for what he uses them for. Didn’t want to get a tall boot. Hassle putting them on and taking them off. He said they’re definitely warm and keep his feet dry. Very comfortable too. If you’re used to Sorels. Give these a try you won’t be disappointed.

Good overall winterboot
I like the boot overall. The fit is snug which i like, and the waterproofing is wonderful when trudging thru NYC snow. The only drawback/qualm i have is what feels like a lack of insulation on the bottom of the boot. When walking thru piles of snow fror extended periods the cold comes thru the sole of the boot, so much so that I had to stop and check a couple of times to see if it was leaking and water had gotten in (it hadn't)I am now looking for a fleece insole to go inside the boot to make it just a little more comfortable.

Narrow, and small
The first time I ordered these I ordered a 12 because I have always been between an 11.5 and a 12. I put these on and immediately checked the size printed on the box and the boot. I thought I had and 11 or 10. Then I checked inside to see if there was something stuck in there that shouldn't be, but there was not.I returned the boots and ordered a size 13. Instead of having an insane amount of room in the boot, they fit about right. The pros are that they feel very well built, and I believe they will last a long time. I love that they have just one hook at the top when tying the laces. They are easy to get on and take off, and easy to tie.The negatives are the sizing, and there is absolutely no cushioning on the bottom. Boots normally don't have much, but these do lack there. I will need to add inserts. These should be a great choice if you don't have flat feet.

A good winter boot by a Canadian company
Now that I have broken these in I feel I can share my thoughts. They felt tight upon receiving them but my feet have adjusted. They are warm, have good grip and always feel secure in my footing. They have also been durable and the laces seem to be of good quality as they are holding up to the use. I would recommend these as a buy. These were also the first pair of footwear I have bought online and I am happy that sizing was good and boot comfortable to wear. I wear size 13 so shoe shopping is a nightmare in physical stores.

Stiefel undicht!

Do not buy if you're looking for something to keep your toes warm
This is a good looking boot, fits as expected but unfortunately didn't deliver when it counted.. I wore this in -15°weather probably -25 with wind chill (I live in Souther Saskatchewan) and not 15 Minute's, my toes were frozen. I initially thought it was my socks so I wore my heavy duty thermal insulated socks and went back out another day during similar weather and my toes were still frozen. So as good as this product looks and feels and fits, it does not deliver where it counts...now I'm down a 100+$ and I still need to invest in proper boots cause it gets to -45 around here

Amazing value here
Amazing value here. I was lucky enough to get this on sale at half price, but would gladly pay full price after having worn them. These are light, warm, and extremely comfortable. I ordered an 11, which I usually wear, and they fit fine. I would highly recommend these to folks looking for a comfortable, functional winter boot.
