First off, this thing has no cross bars at all. It just has a heavy duty piece of material held up with what looks like mini Trampoline springs. (sadly, jumping on it is not recommended.) So you don't wake up feeling like Godzilla has been tap dancing on your spine. Then there is the mattress. Honestly, you could sleep on it without the mattress and be perfectly comfortable, but that would be retarded since its included at no extra charge. It's wider than other cots I've used so if you have a big butt its not a problem, and I am right at 6 foot and my feet don't hang off at all. It even has a locking tab so it stays closed when folded up. The mattress is pretty ugly. Those hideous stripes! Looks like it was sewn together from left over leisure suits from the 70s. But that's okay, unless you were planning on wearing the mattress, in which case you have bigger issues than your choice of camping fear. But it is comfortable. Much more comfortable than an air mattress, and doesn't go flat overnight. If it does, you more than likely exceed the recommended weight limit of 270 pounds. You should have purchased a different one and possibly went on a diet. My cat has already given it his seal of approval, so you know it's good. Now if only I could afford to buy an extra one for him I wouldn't have to vacuum the couch so often. It's pretty low to the ground so if you fall off you won't break your hip. Now you can leave your life alert at home. Also useful if your best friend's wife kicks him out and he needs a place to crash. Just throw one of these and a blanket on the porch and he should be good. Buy it, you'll like it.

I bought this for my step son to sleep on while he was visiting and he said he weighs 350 & the weight limit is 375 and he stretched out several springs. So I would say no more than 300 lbs on this cot and that may be too much.

Stable once you are laying on it but, the legs on the end easily fold under if you are not laying on it. I would use caution when laying down. Its ok I would not return it but, something that may have changed my mind before purchase.

The bed was a total failure until I modified it, I unfolded the legs, placed the bed on the floor and as soon as I got on the bed the end legs folded up. No matter how I attempted to get on it would fold. So i drilled a 3/16" hole through the leg support and the tubular frame and installed a hitch pin. I did this on all four corners. Now I can get on the bed and it stays upright on all four corners. The second part was that the mattress pad was placed in the folded bed when it arrived in the carton. Once removed it would not allow the cot to fold up completely with mattress pad in the fold, so it could not be latched in the folded position.

plenty sturdy enough and fairly comfortable. However if the manufacturer would make them a bit wider and the foam pad a bit thicker/ denser - these would be top of the line sellers. Still glad we got them.

Purchased for grandchild to use. Light weight yet very sturdy. A little cumbersome to open as the legs want to collapse. Also, if you have hardwood floors, put something under the legs or the floors can get scratched. Will probably buy another one now that we have a 2nd grandchild.

It needs to be a lot wider. I'm 5'9 and 310.

It very low to ground .very comfortable I used egg crate and mattress pad on it. I wish was bigger in length size and height not regular twin mattress I thought would be.
