Design allows for a good seal with fast curing sealant and/or a rubber gasket
Very impressed with this product after installation and use. I have replaced 3 different brands/types of scupper valves from different manufacturers, all were unsatisfactory. This unit functions very well in allowing the deck to drain and preventing backwash on my Grady White boat. Very robust construction. Design allows for a good seal with fast curing sealant and/or a rubber gasket. During winter storage a lot of tree debris accumulates in the boat and can clog other scuppers. The removable flaps will allow most of this material (fir tree needles) to wash out.

Much better than the external flapper
Much better than the external flapper. But weird stepped shoulder and spacer made modifying the transom a much better option.
