This is the first time The BEATLES (‘White Album’) has been remixed, presented here as a 2LP 180-gram black vinyl set. To create the new stereo audio mixes for ‘The White Album,’ Giles Martin and Sam Okell worked with an expert team of engineers and audio restoration specialists at Abbey Road Studios in London. This 2LP ‘White Album’ release includes Martin’s new stereo album mix, sourced directly from the original four-track and eight-track session tapes. Martin’s new mix is guided by the album’s original stereo mix produced by his father, George Martin. Half-speed cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

Brilliant quality pressing.
Out of all the vinyl I've bought this year, this is the quietest and has an exceptional sound field. A great improvement on my original. Brilliant.

Masterpiece.
I'm not really going to go into how the Beatles' eponymous 'White Album' is one of the best records of all time. There's numerous essays, articles and reviews on just that. But it's certainly a record that'd endured for many decades and, despite it's very long tracklist, finds no end of catchy pop numbers, blues pieces and rockers. I would say it's really a must-have for any rock fan's vinyl collection, and on vinyl the new, Giles Martin remix really does sound *incredible*. Somehow, over half a century later, it's fresh. Timeless. Both discs are in nice, lined sleeves, themselves housed in a gatefold like that of the original pressing. This double LP has some high-quality photocards of the band members, and a really big, fold-out collage of related photos and all the lyrics. It's as faithful as it needs to be, and such a perfect homage to this record. 'Revolution 1' sounds flawess, as do the depthy numbers of 'Glass Onion', 'While My Guitar...' and 'I'm so tired'. All in all, this is an impeccable effort, and worth buying all over again.

Stunning, clear and vivid. A great audio experience.
A week ago I sold my original 1968 Mono version of this album. It was in the very very low thousands and it made good money. The first thing I did with the cash was bought this 2018 50th Anniversary Edition.I loved my well played Mono version with its crackles and pops in a warm and nostalgic way but with this new album I feel I there are nuances I have not heard before particularly in the drumming.I just know that The Beatles and George Martin would have done it like this had they had the technology and I think this version will hold its money. This album is no better or worse than the original pressing, its strength is its freshness, it invigorates this classic album.Buy with confidence.

Just one reservation
I loved the Sgt Pepper mix so this was a no brainer. It is a great re-issue on many levels. The sound clarity and depth are fantastic. The songs sound like finished articles and you hear how powerful this band could be. I won't pick and choose but hear "Birthday" - it's a full frontal aural attack. The one slight disappointment I have is that whilst the instruments sound a lot more balanced and pan realistically across the sound spectrum, the lead vocals on many tracks come out slightly left of centre. Not full blown left (or right) as on the original stereo issue but enough to notice, unlike the Pepper lead vocals.I'm sure if it had been possible Mr Martin and his team would have done it, and whilst, for me, slightly disappointing, given the overall sound picture, it's still a very strong recommendation to hear (I know it is on Amazon Prime and it must be on Spotify if you want a basic listen before you buy).

You probably know this already ...
This was bought as a gift and the recipient was pleased (or at least said he was) with the item. I would expect that most potential purchasers already know whether or not they will like the item - after all, most of us know what The Beatles sound like! What I can accurately review is the service from Amazon which was exceptional. I ordered the LP after 10pm and it was delivered by lunchtime the following day. A good price too, so very happy.

Great music, poor pressing
This album is 5 stars, maybe 6 stars! The remastering is brilliant. This is the version to get. But the pressing is not to the same quality so there are pops and clicks on several tracks. I returned the first one but the second one also had pops and clicks - just on different tracks! I kept the best of the two. If you can ignore those imperfections you won’t be disappointed !
