The book is great, well written and if you want 6 inch square traditional blocks, this is a good way to get them. The come out with matching points, even if you're a little off placing them, or cutting them, and after doing 2-3 of them, you can spit them out pretty quick. It's also a great way to use up scraps, since depending on the block chosen you can use wee teensy pieces, and for me, it seems less wasteful than traditional pieces and trim paper piecing.As a Modern Quilter by inclination and temperament, I was sort of appalled at how much time it DOES still take. I'd say all up, about 20 minutes per block - cutting, copying, folding, assembling, sewing.A note on paper. The CHEAP paper I could find that did a decent job is tracing paper, which is rarely available in the Letter size needed, and is finicky to feed in copiers and printers. The special paper CT publishing is not available at my local Joanns, but the June Tailer Perfect Piecing Foundation paper IS, and it does a nice job. It's sort of like thin House Wrap - hmmm. Anyway, it's thicker and stiffer than tracing paper, but still translucent. White newsprint, which is super cheap, and you can get in Letter size reams, is NOT translucent enough, and that's important in this technique.Once this exercise in precision is over, I'm going back to Improvisational piecing, but I've learned a lot from this very helpful bool.

Perfect blocks had many wonderful projects and new skills for me to learn. Directions were clear and easy to follow. If you can't take a class directly from Anita, then her book is the next closest thing. Thanks for more great inspiration.

I love fold and sew pattern blocks - they are "no brainers" and probably the easiest type of block to cut and assemble. You do not have to cut "accurately". It is difficult to find these kinds of patterns and this book has over 60.

How do I make how to book reviews unique when they all need to say the same thing? I won't try. This is a good book which covers the subject well. If you like good books which cover the subject well, then try this one.

Just like it states, perfect blocks every time. I'm a beginner to sewing - I had NO idea it would be this much fun, because, this style makes it "EASY"

love it - changed completely the way I making quilts.

This is an exacting way to make blocks, but the preparation time takes many more minutes than I anticipated. It's not the simple that I was looking for.
