Perfectly packaged easy install
The media could not be loaded. I wish I bought this sooner I was worried it wouldn't fit properly in my old sliding glass door but it's perfect! So easy to install and take put if needed i love that it has an unlock feature from the outside. It comes with a weather strip piece of foam that seals the gap when you shut the door as well as an additional flap.Make sure you pay attention.Because I almost threw away the white flap that seals the draft because it was taped to the box. Also I got the extra large flap.Just be aware, if you have toddlers, they can easily climb in and out. It did come with additional hardware to make the insert panel more secure. If you're using it long term, I didn't bother using it because it's just fine tightened in there without it. Not to mention, it has real glass in the panel, which was surprising for the price.

Step over
I had the old style ideal door with the square logo and had to replace it due to parts being obsolete I got the new door with the round logo the same size however the step over was twice as big as the old door but I was able to disassemble it and swap the parts around and make it the same size step over as the other one .I handy with tools so swapping parts around was not a big deal for me I would suggest specific the step over height as my dogs and cat are both old so they'll be happy with the old style step over now.the new one was way to difficult for them. However Ideal door products are excellent

Well made, love it!
We just got this yesterday. Very sturdy! We do not plan to permanently install, so we cant speak to weatherproofing or security latch. We are setting it in place for weekend days and removing it for the night. We have a piece of wood moulding that we are sliding between the glass of stationary door and the door we have partly open to minimize bugs. I am a 60 yr old woman and can easily get it in place. Stays put without attaching. Havent quite got the dogs to push the flap, but they will go in an out when I hold it open. I am sure a squirrel will be on our deck today, and they will blast thru in pursuit! We have 2 40lb dogs, a terrier and portie. Both fit thru well.

BUY LARGER SIZE & SEALING TAPE
I'm glad I bought the door because it's nice to not have to leave the door open while waiting for the chihuahuas to come back inside. My husband & I have 10 rescue chihuahuas and live in wintery cold Pittsburgh. The door was very easy for me to put together and set into sliding door track. Definitely purchase better roll sealer...the stuff that comes with the door is very small and I actually laughed when I saw it. The door actually created a space between my sliding doors that leaves cold air in now. My largest foster dog is 11 lbs and I got the large door. Definitely size up on it. If I would have gotten a smaller dog door it wouldn't have worked for Chihuahuas! The bottom of the dog door flap is about 8 inches from the floor so the dog has to jump up to it. They have to jump into the door. Keep this in mind for smaller pets. 4 of my 3-4 lb ones can't get up and out of the flap because of the magnet & height of bottom of door flap. The lock that comes with it is not secure. We purchased a locking bar.

Great dog door
I have bought and used this peticular dog door for years. Their quality is outstanding. They are so easy to install and your dogs will use it. I wish the manufacturer would put a video of installations on their website. ( U Tube has several.) You might need to make a little ramp to put on the outside in case you have a a dog with short legs ( like Corgi's or dachshunds) so it will make it easier for your dogs to go in and out. BTW this is true for any dog doors not just this brand.

Buy this!
My husband and I live in an apartment on the second floor apartment. We recently got a puppy and let me tell you, having to go up and down stairs to take the puppy out every 15 minutes gets annoying really fast. Even with us taking her out so much, she always needs to use the restroom and still has accidents in the house. So, we ended up making her a little potty station outside with soil, grass, and a bin we poked holes in. We installed this so she can go out and use her balcony potty as much as she wants. This product is a lifesaver! She loves it and now when we leave for work we also don't have to worry about her cuz she just comes in and out from her balcony potty as much as she pleases! The best part is, you can remove it! So if you ever move to another apartment, or you just don't need it anymore - you can just take it out! Best $130 we have ever spent!

Flap is fully lockable with 4 entry modes (closed, open, in only, out only).
That is not a true statement. The flap is magnetic, but there isn't any "in only or out only" options. And the closed option is when you put the plastic "lid" in the door so nothing gets through. You cannot lock your patio door into this system. If I didn't have an 8 foot fence around my patio and two pit bulls, I'd probably return this because it doesn't feel secure. Someone could easily push this through and enter the house.I have two dogs and they are having some difficulty learning the door. I think the magnetic seal is intimidating them. The female seems to get it when I tell her to go in or out, but she doesn't realize that she has the freedom to go as she pleases. The male is taller and it seems to be more difficult for him.. He is the one that is intimidated by the magnet. He will sometimes walk through it behind the female, but he will usually just sit a the door begging.
