The BFG [Region2]

I'm pleased that the closed captions or english subittles are on. I am able to enjoy watch the story while the CC transulate what the story is about. There appears to be no damage on the dvd when I received the shipping package.

Eh... not what I was expecting... it was a little babyish. I was hoping to use this as a compare and contrast with the other movie for my students, but I honestly don't think this movie would hold their attention.

All of Dahl's movie adaptations are awesome and great for kids. Btw this bluray is playable in all regions!

What? No reviews!?! well then ill say something. if you have read the book the big friendly giant. this is the movie for you. at this point in time i thought this movie has sorta been forgotten. i guess i was wrong.the movie generality follows the book. but with enhanced visuals and a very fantasy like world compared to the illustration in the book. the music in the movie has a very... how to i say it. 80's synthesizer sound to it, but in my opinion still likable.the story goes like this.Sophie is taken from a orphanage cause she saw him doing his work with dreams at night. the giant (BFG) explains that its very secret and didnt want the world knowing about giants. so Sophie must live with him. the are other giants in giants land that go out at night and eat human "beans" eventually sophie and the bfg come up with a way to shop them from killing off humans and warn the queen of England by using a custom made dream that told her of the evil giants and that sophie was sitting on her window ledge.Sophie explains to her that the bfg was out in the garden and signals him to come. so they got the military out and follow the bfg back to giants land. capture the giants and throw them in a pit to eat snozcumbers forever. sophie was then adopted by the bfg and they lived happily ever after.So anyways this is defiantly a movie worth watching weather you have read the book or not!.

Bought as a gift for my son. Brilliant story, highly recommended, though I personally don't like Roald Dahl.

The dvd played for 10 minutes and then stopped working and wouldn’t play again.

This film only exists on DVD on the French side (dubbed in Quebec), I was looking for an HD quality edition for this animated film, and I found it! Image and sound are very good for this blu-ray British edition, with interesting booklet and bonus.This story by Roald Dahl has been better known since Steven Spielberg made a recent adaptation of it. But you have to see the wonderful cartoon from 1987, 5 years after the publication of the novel.

WARNING: This DVD does not come as advertised.I brought this DVD for my autistic brother as he loves the film. However as he is autistic he likes things a certain way and wanted this particular DVD as it was advertised to have a blue cover which he chose on his wish list. Unfortunately, the DVD I received was one with a purple background. While this may not be an issue for others, I would like to point out that this DVD comes not has advertised and for him this will be a difficult thing for him to over come.I could have brought this film with a purple cover for a third of the price from another seller, however I chose to purchase this DVD as I thought I would receive the DVD he chose.I would also like to point out that the DVD was received in excellent condition and arrived quickly.

Extremely funny and goodvhumoured love the whizzpopping song even as an adullt i remember the words whizz pop whizz bangvbrilliantvwho evervcame up with this sort of thing for kids i think its genius andvthe queens face after hearing the bfg's music choice
