Could not make the blanket without this!
I read many reviews and decided to go with the Clover versus the other chenille cutter because it has a handle. The handle is absolutely NECESSARY! My hand would be so fatigued if I had bought the other cutter or used my scissors. The Clover worked perfectly! I was cutting through 3 layers of flannel about 45 inches square. I never had to click the blade to a sharper section. I was done quickly and my blanket looks so cute! A definite necessary tool if you are making a blanket. Some tips to make it easier:1. snip the ends of the flannel to start the cut2. hold the fabric down behind the cutter with your opposing hand flat on the table3. that being said, cut on a flat surface4. keep the cutter perpendicular to the table to keep the cut straight5. I tested the cutter out and cut the last ten lines without cleaning out the lint build up and it cut great from the first cut to the last! There is a small channel under the blade that collects the excess lint so the blade does not get clogged up. Genius!6. If the fabric you are using is rather thick it may be better to cut one or two layers at a time. I used standard flannel, 3 layers, and it worked great but could see how a heavier weave fabric could clog things up.7. pre-wash your fabrics to cut down on lint build upExcellent purchase! I would definitely recommend it to a friend!

Sharp
This is a very good quality rotary cutter for a decent price as some can be quite costly. They are sharp enough to cut through several layers of material at once depending on the thickness.

Five Stars
Bought this for doing faux chenille and I love it. I've done a few small "lovey" blankets for my daughter using denim as a base and 3-4 layers of flannel. I started a full-size blanket for one of my sons using quilting cotton as the base and 4 layers of flannel but I've been working on that for a lifetime and may never finish it!I tried "chenille-ing" chevrons and that did not work out at all. Besides the fact that it was a ROYAL PAIN, when I washed the swatch, it just looked like a squiggly mess. So I went back to using straight lines. I typically do 1/4" seams and then use the long guard to cut the fabric. You do need to be careful and go slowly because it's easy to get just a little out of line and even cut a seam. Overall, it's a cool tool that gives an awesome effect but you do have to be careful with it and there is a learning curve. Don't rush and you'll be ok.

Great for faux-Chenille Quilts!
I loved this cutter for making faux chenille blankets. I have previously used an Olda chenille cutter. It worked great, but was hard to hold and my hands hurt by the time I did all the cutting. The Clover cutter with the handle made the cutting SO easy. I wish the blade was larger—just feel like there would be more blade area and it would not wear down as quickly. I think it would be fine for cutting two quilts and then might need a blade change. I just ordered extra blades, and will choose the Clover cutter over my Olfa in the future. The handle on this one won me over easily.

Ergonomic and effective tool
This replaces my old Olfa chenille cutter. That was also a good quality tool, but I prefer this one.I feel like the long, pointed part sets me up, and it feels more comfortable with a handle. These two features together make the work less concentrated and easier on my stiff, clumsy hands. It felt at least as sharp & smooth as my Olfa, if not more so. Cut the loops of a nylon throw rug like a hot knife through butter.

Small, manueverable rotary cutter
One of several in my rotary cutter collection. It is particularly useful for small projects, small items. Much more maneuverable than larger rotary cutters. Blades are durable and easily changed. Highly recommend.
