Ableconn M2-NW-107 M.2 Gigabit Ethernet Module - GigaLAN 1000BASE-T PCIe x1 M.2 A-E Key

This device is an absolute work of genius! It saved me big time when trying to build a pfsense security router for home. The problem I kept running into was the need for dual gigabit Ethernet ports. When doing anything involving encryption and/or decryption Intel processors are a must, due to their built in AES-NI instruction set. I only had two choices for systems without having to buy a new one. 1) Up Board or 2) Udoo X86 Advanced. Both are very compact SBCs & powerful, but both only have 1 gigabit Ethernet port. Pfsense doesn't work with USB Ethernet adapters very well, even though I was using USB 3.0 adapters on USB 3.0 ports. The Udoo X86 Advanced has (2) M.2 slots, 1) M.2 2260 & M.2 2230. The 2260 slot had an Intel combo WiFi & BT adapter in it. The 2230 was empty. Just as a shot in the dark, I did a search for "M.2 Ethernet". To my surprise the Ableconn M2-NW-107 M.2 Gigabit adapter popped up! For $25.99 it was worth a shot. I removed the Intel adapter that was in the M.2 2260 slot & the Ableconn M2-NW-107 M.2 Gigabit Ethernet adapter slid perfectly into the slot. After securing it with the provided screws, I held my breath & booted up pfsense. It worked flawlessly the 1st time! This adapter can hold it's own against any other Gigabit Ethernet adapter out there. It's very fast, supports all the offloading options to take the burden off the CPU & it handles auto negotiation up to 1000BaseT Full Duplex. It doesn't run the least bit hot, even under heavy load. Thanks to this awesome little device, I was able to complete my pfsense security router solution exactly as I wanted & it only cost me $25.99! I can't praise or recommend this device highly enough!
