It's so helpful to have a collection of various springs on-hand, both compression and extension types. It helps with prototyping small mechanisms and table-top robotics projects. This collection covers most bases pretty well for those little one-off things. Sometimes I even use a spring in combination with some shrink-wrap tubing to create a flexible strain-relief boot for projects.

For the most part, these springs start to expand and contract before a full Newton of force has been exhibited. Those that are thin and tightly wound took more than 10 Newtons to begin expanding.There’s a good variety of lengths, coil distances (on the compression springs), tightness (on extended springs), and diameters that make this really useful for maker spaces. They seem to be a good quality coil, as they didn’t overstretch or snag when compressed.The case they come in is also handy. It latches easily, and keeps the variety of springs from entangling.

This kit has a great variety of springs. I was able to find the perfect spring for my desk locking mechanism in this kit. It is impossible to get a kit with every spring you could ever need but this kit comes close in the realm of small springs. All the springs are relatively small so take the dimensions into consideration when ordering. Its nice having a kit like this on hand for next time you need a spring. They can be extremely useful in all sorts of repair and 3D printing applications. 10/10
