Serious Pop?
When Mandy Moore first appeared on the music scene a couple of years back her first album didn't really set her apart from all the other pop princesses which were releasing their albums, with her second set, Mandy looks set to change that. The change of direction is apparent from the first track, the very catchy In My Pocket, her producers have mixed an exotic beat into the song which works to great effect, a similar approach is used on other songs such as, You Remind Me, One Sided Love and It Only Took a minute. The album is a mixture of catchy dancy pop with the above tracks while throwing in some gentle ballards, a sort of country rock pop, Cry is one of the more successful songs, taken from the movie a walk to remember. Crush is also a song which makes the listener realise the direction Mandy Moore is headed, Saturate Me is a powerful ballard that displays her musical maturity. One of the best songs on there for me, was the Diane Warren writen ballard, From Loving You, again a gentle love song, with a trippy beat added to it. This collection seems to be in touch with the way pop music is headed now, with Similarites in style to artists such as Holly Vallence and Michelle Branch, with a set like this, Mandy looks set to become a much more successful and mature singer and writer. The album I gave 5 stars because I really do think it is worth this, for me all the tracks are good and could be released as singles, maybe with the exception of Split Chick. Go and buy though, I truly reccomend this one!!

A Mature, Exotic and Infectious Offering From Mandy Moore
Following on from the international sucess of previous albums 'So Real' and 'I Wanna Be With You', Mandy Moore offers this selection of 13 outstanding tracks. If you were expecting the sweet pop of 'So Real' (summed up by the single Candy) or the ballad-led 'I Wanna Be With You' then think again. 'Mandy Moore' is a mature and varied album, although complete with the obvious ballads: From Loving You, When I Talk To You and Cry. Standout tracks, however, are those in which Moore collaborates with Emilio Estefan. In My Pocket, One Sided Love and It Only Took A Minute layer lush Eastern strings over throbbing beats, to dramatic and unusual effect. Crush, Yo-Yo and Split Chick are pure high-energy pop tunes, incredibly catchy and great to sing along to. Saturate Me is an epic song, complete with tribal drums, and You Remind Me flows along pleasantly. Even the slightly weaker tracks, 17 and Turn The Clock Around, improve after a few listens. Overall this is an album which can be listened to over and over. It certainly eclipses her previous hit records, and deservedly so due to its superior writing and originality. Definitely one for your CD collection!

An Exotic, Egyptian Fusion Album..
Well, First Off i would like to say, the album is amazing right from the start (Thanks 2 Mandy), then as you go down each track you hear erotic, egyptian, eastern-style music such as "In My Pocket", "You Remind Me", "Saturate Me", "One Sided Love" & "It Only Took A Minute"...As You listen to them, the eastern vibes take you away onto a desert...which is also romatic, magical and beautiful..her voice captures you to a universe you wouldn't want to leave, Here's A Thought.."Try listening to the songs above in Egypt, and you'll feel exactly what im feeling on a Hot, Humid Summer's day"...The other songs are good too, i also like "YO-YO" which is an R&B/Pop type...Mandy worked extremely hard as she venutred onto, different styles, types, and rythm beats on this fantastic album...I have only this album, and her "Coverage" album...but to be honest, nothing Beats this album...its beautiful..I am waiting to purchase her "The Best Of" with an added DVD..section which will also be an delight. If any fans or new fans like "eastern, style, egyptian beats" then this album is defo for you!...I loved it...Well Done Mandy, This Album Is Superb!..Let's wait and see what "WILD HOPE" (Another new album of hers which will be coming out in the summer of 2007)...will sound likeRavi

Mandy Givin As Good As It Gets!
Oh yes she came back stonger than before, building on what was a very solid foundation from her first two albums (I Wanna Be With You & So Real). Although diverging to a more Pop type sound in this album, Mandy still manages to keep you wholly interested throughout. An outstanding album with tunes that everyone will like, (No Doubt, LOL!)This album also includes the title track "Cry" to the motion picture "A Walk to Remember" (in cinema's in the UK now!!!) This is an outstanding, moving ballad that is well pitched, well paced and leaves you with a good feelin' afterwards, so you could even buy it just for this song alone, lol!Despite being snubbed in the English market through the ever so sexy Ms Spears, Mandy has done very well for herself in the US, much better than over here. So if you wanna see what you've been missing out on take a listen to this and I'm pretty confident you won't be disappointed! Lovin it!

Great! Mandy's Best Album of original material!
I don't know exactly how I started to listen to Mandy (I normally listen to Radiohead and Tori Amos). But I think I was drawn to her more than her popular peers (Britney & Christina) because there was a sincerity about her. She's not one to try to take the spotlight by doing some "stunt". Her focus in her career is something to be admired because she realizes that she should be into the music and not getting publicity and sales(even though those things are nice sometimes). That's why she decided (against the label Epic's wishes) to do a cover album of songs that she liked (Coverage). "Coverage" showed to me a maturity that was starting to appear in the album "Mandy Moore".She went from doing something like "So Real" (a debut that Mandy seemingly has decided to ignore, and for good reasons) to doing an album that really relied on the producers to try to seperate Mandy from her bubble-gum pop past. This seemed more like a debut in trying to show the difference between Mandy and her young-pop peers. And I think they succeded. That's why this album is appropriately titled "Mandy Moore". "Saturate Me" was definitely the standout track. The sounds and Mandy's voice flow so well together. "One Sided Love" was also great with a good beat (seemed inspired by pop of the 80's and Middle Eastern music for a rocking blend, I know that sounds corny but it's hard for me to describe but simply the song is wonderful) Mandy has gone a long way from her "Candy" days and is on her way to being seen as a serious vocalist. This album was the start of that.

*Mandy Moore!*
Mandy Moore manages to pack more hooks, melody, beats, clever production flourishes, and fun into its 13 tracks than nearly all of its peers -- remarkably, it's a stronger album, through and through. That doesn't mean that it has singles as strong as those albums; even if the surging "In My Pocket," the faux-sitar spiked "You Remind Me," and hip-hop ballad "Saturate Me" are all fine tunes, meant to be played on the radio. Mandy Moore is such a good record because of consistency. This may not hit tremendous heights, yet everybody involved is working so hard that they've managed to come up with a record that's consistently satisfying. It doesn't stretch the teen pop formula much, just enough to give the record character, and Moore delivers the songs sturdily, never taking the forefront, but blending into the lush, layered production, so the music just rolls forth as a whole. And that whole sounds great -- immaculately crafted, precisely polished, exactly what a teen pop album should be. Of course, it would have been greater if a couple of the songs were genuine knockouts, but usually this genre sacrifices consistency for dizzying peaks and it's refreshing to hear a teen pop record that plays like a record, instead of singles-n-filler.XoXoAlex! :)
