Just Didn't Work
The drum unit 4-pack arrived in good condition. I was able to put the ink into the drums. Then I put the drums back into the my Brother HL-3170CDW. That is when the problems started. The instructions on how to reset the printer were not accurate. It took days to fiddle with it to get the printer to PRINT again. First, there were globs of color ink coming out on the pages or landing underneath the cartridges. I fiddled with the green contraption that slides from side to side on the drum which I was instructed to do (by the printer a dozen times). Finally, I found a zig zag pattern for each cartridge that stopped the ink bleeds. But, the color ink (which is still full) does not come out on the paper. Only black and white ink comes out properly. The colors are completely faded out and print with very distorted images and words. This has just not worked properly at all. I am really considering junking this printer. It's too expensive to maintain.

Drums work still kicking error
I gave it a 3/5 because the drums are working fine, the machine is still showing error to replace drums even though they are working. Possibly because printer is set up to only recognize brother specific drums.

Seems to be as good as a new one
I was having some trouble with an incomplete image on my printouts, and my page count was approaching the maximum for the drum units. I swapped one of the drum units, and the new one was just as good as the previous one. It didn't solve my problem, but it fit and worked. I'm holding onto the set now until I need to replace my current units.

JUNK
I ordered these drums in December and when I put them in my printer in April my printer kept telling me that I needed to clean the wire and I couldn't print anything. They are junk. I couldn't use them and now it is too late to return them. So much for trying to save money and ordering in advance to have them on hand. Hope you enjoyed making money off of me.

Red dots
The drums seem just as good as brother's with one exception, all my pages now have 2 or 3 small red dots no matter what I am printing.

They work great! Very worth the price.

Defective.
Not happy with this red drum at all. No matter how much I clean it, it's just defective.
