Ernst Manufacturing Perimeter Rail, 5-Feet by 2.9-Inch, 2-Pack

(Come on, "Tanya" - you're not even a user.) But I am, and I am annoyed. Compared to the 1.2" components (which are easy to work and snap together smoothly and securely)...the 2.9" stuff is a train wreck. EXTREMELY awkward to construct. The corner joints are very, very awkward and flimsy; they do not by any means 'snap' together like they do with the 1.2" stuff) And the divider clips cannot be inserted after the four corners have been formed (like you can with the 1.2" ones) you must *disassemble* one end of the "box" and SLIDE the divider clips onto the perimeter rails and then re-assemble the "box". Incredibly awkward and counter-intuitive. Further - unlike the 1.2" perimeter rails that must be cut 1" shorter than the length of the drawer - *the 2.9" perimeter rails need to be cut to the same length as the drawer*. Since there are ZERO instructions or illustrations, I did not realize that the corner attachment system was so different...and as result I wasted both of my 36" pieces by cutting them 1" too short. Considering the calibre of this company, and the fact that they are *American*, I think they seriously dropped the ball on this segment of their line up.** EDIT **I was so incensed that I called the manuf to complain. They suggested that perhaps I had been sent the older version of the corner clips...and offered to send me replacements. I have since received those, and sure enough the clips I originally got are FAR inferior to the replacements. While I've not yet assembled the new clips, I am quite certain that they will go together much better than the first ones...since they have the same design as the 1.2" ones. Further, I expect that the perimeter rail cut length issue will also be solved by the new clips. Oh - and the manuf included a sheet of instructions...which - now that I've seen them - would have helped tremendously with the initial assembly operation several weeks ago. I will update this review once I have verified my two assumptions about the clips.

I would reccomend these premier rails to anybody to finish thier tool box divider system made by ernst, buy now.
