No bang for the buck
This was a gift for my granddaughter. I didn't give it to her . When I received it in this small box, I thought it can't possibly be worth the price charged, over $40. I returned it.

The "gems" are fake
The "gems" are not real. They are made out of some sort of acrylic material. They look like colored blobs of glass, but are very very light and feel like plastic to the touch.

Very fun for younger kids!
My son, who's 4.5, actually really likes this toy. The plastic "excavating" tools are well enough made and safe for a young kid to use and the rock is soft enough for him to actually dig it apart on his own. The gems are fake, but fun enough for him. To be fair though, we bought ours at Target for only $10 though. I think that's a better price than what's listed here.
