A vacuum sealer that doesn't need a lot of counter space
I have been wanting to get a vacuum sealer for a while now, to help preserve leftovers, or to be able to buy foods like steak in bulk, and seal/freeze them properly. I have hesitated because it seemed that existing sealers required counter space and/or needed storage space somewhere, when not being used. The Chef Preserve system eliminates these hassles. Instead of needing to store a clumsy device somewhere, this system uses a simple vacuum sealer about the size of a salt or pepper mill, in conjunction with a collection of specialized 'ziplock' bags that contain a one way air valve. You simple place the food in the bag, close the zip-lock (it's especially strong), and apply the vacuum sealer to the valve. Press the button, and the vacuum sealer sucks out all the air, shutting off automatically. The product comes with 30 bags of two different sizes; additional bags (including a size substantially larger than what is shipped with the device) can be purchased. The bags are not inexpensive, but they are re-usable; I simply wash them out after use, and I suspect they'll last for many uses before needing replacement. The vacuum sealer itself is rechargeable, with a USB-C recharging port, but the battery evidently lasts for many uses before needing a recharge.

A Must Have!
Don't know what to say about this. I have had it around a month and it has paid for itself. User friendly, love the reusable bags. Saves food, freshness. For example I bought a brick of cheese almost 3 weeks ago and sealed it in a small bag and it still taste as fresh as it did the first day. Tip: don't write directly on the bag, use masking tape so you get the full use of the reusable bags. Definitely a keeper. With the cost of food today, you can't afford not to have this

My fav Amazon find!
Immediately hooked! It’s the size of your standard whisk, its whisper quiet, and so convenient! The reseal bags have come in more handy than expected. I thought I’d used extra bags for the used bags in my freezer however now I use them for my lunchmeats -make a sandwich, zip it up and vacccuum bag, toss it back in the fridge for longer shelf life and it takes only seconds! This might just be my favorite Amazon find. Highly recommend! A must have well worth the price.

Not for Liquids or Powders
Handy size, vacuum seals the included bags well and is a great way to reduce food waste. The sealer pulls the bag snugly around the contents, and will crush soft, delicate items. One of my worst food wastes is fresh bagged spinach. So I'm conducting an experiment to test spinach freshness after its expiration date. We are currently 12 days after bagging, which is 7 days beyond the expiration date.*Original packaging: the bagged spinach is wet and a few leaves are slimy. The majority of leaves are still usable for cooking, but not at peak freshness. I wouldn't want to eat them fresh in a salad.*Chef Preserve bag: there was some condensation inside the bag but the spinach is still really fresh. Note: I left a tiny bit of air in the bag, didn't let the sealer crush the spinach.*Mason Jar: some condensation inside the jar, spinach is still fresh, completely vacuum sealed since a glass jar can't crush the spinach. Note that the Chef Preserve is NOT compatible for sealing mason jars. The Chef Preserve bags are convenient to store and use, but washing and drying them is a bit of a hassle. The food preservation results this far are very good, equal to using mason jars, but sometimes a bag is best. Two things that do NOT work well are liquids and powders, as they prevent the vacuum valve from sealing (my reason for a 4 star review).Foods I've vacuum sealed using Chef Preserve with great results:Mini bell peppers (gently sealed)Cheese (gently sealed)PepperoniHam slicesEgg salad sandwich (gently sealed)Fresh green beansCabbage headGrapes (gently sealed)Gently sealed means I stopped the sealer from achieving a complete seal to prevent crushing the food. Cheese slices are hard to separate after being tightly sealed.Of all my vacuum sealing gadgets (full size Food Saver, mason jar sealer and Chef Preserve), I'm getting more use from the Chef Preserve than I expected. It's great for short term storage because it's just so convenient and easy to use!

Enjoy sealing!!
I love this sealer. I love that it is small enough to store conveniently in comparison to the large food sealers. It has a good suction. The only drawback I would say is you have to be very careful if you have any liquid inside the bag you are trying to seal. The sealer says don’t allow liquids to get in it and liquids will come through the sealing port on the bags. I had this happen and it was did not break anything but it was messy. Regardless I seal veggies, meats, and many other things with no problem. Fits easily in a drawer or cabinet while taking up very little space.

Love this handy vacuum sealer ❤️❤️❤️
Works like a charm! Bought the glass bowls also but haven’t used them yet. Made a salad bar for 6 people and used the bags to store all the vegetables a day a head. Chopped up, washed and vacuum sealed. Next day layed everything out and leftovers went back in the bags and resealed. Made Spring Rolls and sealed them in a bag for the freezer. Takes up so little space when stored this way. And I love the fact the bags can be reused! No more ziplock bags for me!

Great project and good value
Great product. I previously had the handheld foodsaver That only lasted 2 years. This Chef Preserve sealer seems to have a stronger pull. The bags zip well. I do like to use the small zip tool that was sent with it. The trick is to lay the bag on the table and press the ziplock ends together. I keep mine charging all the time. I was able to use the bags from my food saver. I haven't yet frozen anything. I use it to keep cut produce fresh. I do not eat meat or cheese so have no review about that.I am very happy with this purchase.
