Land of the Lustrous 5

Begins Where the Anime Ended!
This book is highly enjoyable! Ichikawa's art style is unique, and the characters are all fresh and interesting! If you are just hopping in from the anime (because season one ended quite abruptly), this is the book you want to get! The story picks up a little bit before where the show left off! Overall, a great read that will make you dive in for more.

I love this series and have no complaints about the content ...
I love this series and have no complaints about the content of the story itself, however, the physical book itself is a bit of a mess. My copy arrived with several scratches/dings and tears on the cover surface. If it wasn't for the "new manga smell", I would have assumed that I bought a used copy. In addition to this, the first 20 numbered pages are repeated once, making the book much larger than previous volumes. I'm not sure if my copy was the only one to have this, but this misprint bothers me.

Good book that leave you hanging
I love the story but if this is the end it really sucks it leave you hanging just like the series and in my opinion the story and the series were great but if this is the end of this book I will ever buy another one of his story

I like it, but problem with the binding?
I enjoyed the manga itself, but something’s up with the binding. The pages were loose from the paperback the second I opened it (and there are two tables of contents for some reason). The pages stayed together and the cover is fine so I should be able to glue it myself, but it’s kind of weird.

Great volume, quality could have been better
One of the best manga out there. No complaints about the story, but the quality of the book itself was somewhat dissapointing. The front and back cover arrived slightly torn and scratched at the edges. And the binding of the book is somewhat messy.

Great manga but quality of book itself decreased
Since this is already volume 5 it can be assumed that most readers are familiar with the story. It remains engaging, the world building and characters -especially the main character Phos- are very interesting and the art is still wonderful. In each volume the author amazes again with smart usage of black and white contrasts and interesting angles. It is a pleasure to look at.However, I can only give this particular volume a 4 star rating because the cover print and binding quality of the book has decreased in comparison to volume 1-4 and 6.The binding doesn't feel sturdy and it is also visible that the glue did not stick properly so the book has to be handled with utmost care that no pages will come off eventually. I have already received the book with the smudges/ink and slight damage on the edges (see picture).Furthermore, the register accuracy of the cover print is off so it appears blurry (see picture) and the paper is different with a matte instead of a glossy finish which overall does not feel and look as good as the other volumes. The inner pages are fine but for a pricetag at about €11~€13 per book I find these faults extremely disappointing. It is possible this was just a bad print run but I do not want to order a second copy to compare.
