Wonderful and so are KMC chains

I have used these and KMC chains for years and they have several times saved my bacon. I always carry at least one spare. They are easy to drop and loose in the dirt.It is the end of a long day and you are beat. The sun is going down, the mosquitoes are beginning to attack and you chain somehow jams between the chain-ring spider and the frame. Sure, you could pull the crank, if you have a crank puller, or you could use a chain breaker and push out a pin -- if you have a spare replacement pin. Or, you can remove your KMC link, yank the chain loose from the spider and reassemble the link. This is easier if you have a pair of Park chain pliers that weigh about the same as a chain breaker and you can do it without pliers. I have many times.

Get rid of pins

After constantly replacing shimano pins on my chain I ordered these to try. I should have started using a long time ago. Shimano rips you off at $10 for 3 pins that can’t be reused. One of these KMC links can be reused and easy to take chain on and off.I use on a shimano 10 speed Ultegra chain and have put 300 miles on it with no problem. The next time I replace my mountain bike chain I’ll put one on there too.I’ll also keep a spare in my repair kit if needed.

Loose fit when locking in position.

I have had these links in my took kit for some time and had to use a set on my 11 speed shimano ultragra chain today. It fit and moved through the cassette as it should but there was little to no resistance to lock it in position or take it back apart. I may have just gotten a bad one but I am switching back to the shimano quick links. Not the the quality I was expecting if the chain is a little loose and jumps around the link could come apart when you least expect it.

Easy to install for newbie, no tools.

My first try at installing a MTB chain w/ Master link. Why now? The mechanic at PortaPedal in Tempe, AZ installed a new chain w/ one, and on my first ride, I lost the link -- popped right off. So, I figure I gotta do it myself!Used this link on that "new" chain, and has functioned as expected for 1.5 months and 6 rides so far...

Perfect fit, needs a tool to remove

Fit perfectly, but you will need a tool, as I found it impossible to remove by hand like my old 9 speed links. I'm tempted to reuse them, and if you check the boards, many people do. But then I think about how much I paid for the bike and what the consequences of a broken chain could be and I shell out for new links.

As described.

Not much to say. A pack of 2 master links for use if/when needed. I keep them with me in my bag just in case. I've never needed to remove a chain for cleaning purpose so I kinda hope to not ever need to use these. Package specifies for Shimano, Sram, and KMC chains only so be mindful of you run a campy chain.

Second link broke 2 miles in to the ride

The first one was awesome and was on my chain for awhile. I wore the chain out and bought a new chain and put the second link on it. On the second link, 2 miles in to the ride, the pin fell out. I have ridden 30k miles in 4 years so I have replaced a lot of chains and have never seen this happen before. Im guessing its a 1 in a million event. Im going to go get a lottery ticket today. But the link looks cool and it easy to spot when taking the chain apart to clean.

Great quality and luv that they are reusable.

Really a quality product. I got the gold to early find my master link. I use chain pliers to take the off so ibcant say how easy they are to take off by hand. I ride road bike and clean my chain every 100 or so miles.
