So as I hope we all know Dossier does dupes of perfumes. It's sort of their THING. The bottle I bought, for example, Musky Musk, is meant to be a dupe of juliana might be armed's perhaps this isn't a perfume. And it's close! I won't lie, it's very close. Having smelled the original, the dossier dupe does come within a finger length of smelling the same. Its one downfall to being a perfect dupe is that it's just that bit more sweet. I don't mind that sweetness, in fact I find it endearing. It melds well with a lot of the more drugstore lotions and creams I use, so if I'm wearing something vanilla scented as a lotion and then I put Musky Musk on, they blend very nicely and I smell super good. Dossier also has my heart with their very minimalist yet easy to read packaging (yes that's a thing what do you want a minimalist label that just says 'perfume' with no other information? Man no THANKS) and those magnetic tops. Oh my goodness the magnetic tops, they're great. I've never put down this bottle's top and then forgotten about it because I love the click and it holds so well. For the price in comparison to the perfume it's duping I find Musky Musk to be worth it. You're not going to get a 100% true match to the OG, but you're gonna get close enough that honestly it barely matters.

Look, it’s not 100% JHAG but it’s the closest I’ve ever found and for a fraction of the cost, I’m sold. Yes, it does have a slight alcohol smell but I mean it’s way cheaper and that smell fades and dissipates after a few minutes and you’re left with that beautiful skin musk scent. Perfect for layering, and as far as longevity goes it sticks to my clothing for days and for about 5+ hours on skin.

This does not smell anything like the original, matter of fact it smells really bad. You cannot smell it even 5 minutes after spraying a ton of it on yourself but I quickly realized that wasn’t a bad thing because I didn’t want it to last. I also didn’t want anyone else to smell me. This is my 3rd try with Dossier and unfortunately I’m 0-3. I will not be purchasing anything else. The other 2 smelled good but also didn’t last any time at all, no matter how much I sprayed. I really wanted it to be better.

I’m on a journey to find a musk that agrees with my senses. I really wanted to like Musky Musk by Dossier, but all I can smell is straight-up black peppercorn. If Dossier said jump, I ask “how high?” Anyway, I’ve heard amazing things about this version and the inspiration, JHAG—NAP.People say it’s great for layering, and I tried. I really did. But instead of blending beautifully, it just bulldozed everything I paired it with. No matter what I put on, the peppercorn takes over (my nose) like it's the main character—and it stays all day. My nose and throat were burning like I just snorted my whole spice rack.If you’re like me and still searching for that smooth, skin-like musk that doesn’t feel like you did a line of fresh cracked pepper… this ain’t the one, friend.Hope this saves someone else’s sinuses—if it did, show a little love with a thumbs up for my pain and suffering.
