Lasted around 3 months then stopped turning on / off
Maybe I got a bad one, I did buy two. The first one lasted around 3 months. It just won't turn on and off anymore. I used it for a turtle tank for two 100 watt lights.

Easy to use. Didn’t last
I purchased three of these for the holiday lights outside 2 years ago. Easy enough to set up. They were protected from the weather. They worked fine the first holiday season. One failed midway through the 2nd season. Another failed at the beginning of the third season. The remaining one is still working. Note they were only used 6 weeks out of the year.I used mechanical timers for 24 years and they worked fine and for many years. I switched to digital because I wanted more precise on/off times. I’ll stay on digital but a different brand.

It's great if you don't need manual override.
This is a great electronic timer, but it has two flaws which made it almost useless for me.The intended use was to control the Christmas tree lights. In the past i used the good old mechanical timers. The first issue I noticed: the outlet for the tree is tucked into the corner. With the mechanical timer I would just program it in advance, then reach all the way under the tree, and plug it in.WELL, TURNS OUT, THE ELECTRONIC TIMER HAS TO BE PLUGGED IN in order to be programmed. And it also forgets the program very quickly after you unplug it. So, the only way to set it up was to move the tree out of the corner. The second annoying thing was: I really like the "manual override" the old one had.E.g. our tree would normally turn off by day and at midnight.Of course on the weekends or actual Christmas Day, I would want it on all day.The old timer had a little override switch, which would let me easily set it to permanent on (or permanent off)So, if you want a replacement of ALL the features of the mechanical timer, keep in mind the limitations this one has.IN ADDITION, I would also not recommend to use this with an unreliable power source. Such as an extension cord which you frequently disconnect. The manual timer would keep the program, you just have to reset the time. With this electronic timer, if your power goes out even a second, you'll have to reprogram the whole thing.

Bought as 'second chance' returned item & ONE of the TWO timers DIDN'T work
Only 1 of 2 of these particular timers worked properly, which was the ONLY reason these timers were given a 3-star rating. They were probably returned by another customer, which is why these timers were available for purchased as 'used'. The one timer's 'time settings' and 'other operations' appeared to work properly, HOWEVER the timer would NEVER actually 'turn on' the attached device. I verified the attached device was in the 'on position' and worked properly, plus tried plugging into 'several' wall outlets and also tried 'other devices', before determining the issue was the timer itself.I have purchased myTouchSmart Outdoor/Indoor Plug-in Digital timers on several occasions previously and never had issues. Setup and operation of these timers is simple. They keep time accurately, are sturdy and constructed well. Overall, these timers are a great value and 'usually' work as designed without issues, except for this time. I'm not mad or do I blame anybody, because sometimes things 'just don't work'.
