Lovely clear book good for beginners.

This book is great, I only wish that there were more like it on the market, it is helpful in learning you - the Clay worker the different methods to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. If like me you are a keen clay modeller then you will want this book in your library.

This is exactly what I wanted, an easy to follow guide with clear pictures and step by step instructions.To be honest I have not followed an example from start to finish yet, instead I have used it to pick out ideas / pointers for my own designs but that is what I brought the book for so it is perfect for me!

I love this book! it has great projects which are easy to follow and each one leads you on to a new idea and a slightly more technical method, I found it very easy to progress with this book, and you will be making awesome mythical creatures in no time at all! I made one project a day and after each one of the projects in the book I made my own variation (which all sold really well at a local craft fair and led to many commissions for little mythical folk!) I really cant recommend this book enough- fab for beginners and those who may just be a little rusty :)

I found this book to be aimed more at children. The sculpting techniques were very course with no real definition and the finished articles were rough and very child like. The makeing of the armatures may come in handy but if you take sculpting seriously then this is not the book you should buy. I feel if you were just starting out this may actually hold back your learning of the process of blending your clay. My verdict, not a good learning tool!
