I am certain that this chair is NOT new. Thankfully I have a chair store in my town where I can compare what you sent me to the one they have on display. The chair you sent me has clear post-market work done using basic silicoln on the bottom, and most importantly it is NOT smooth at all. It is clunky, it has gaps in the pressure of the support. nothing compared to what is in the local store.

Best Lumbar Support to Prevent Back Problems
Best thing that's happened to my writing life since the publication of my first novel! I've never spent this much for a desk chair, and can't believe what I'd been missing.Maybe if I'd gotten this chair (or its equivalent) years ago, I wouldn't be dealing with fibromyalgia, sciatica, and other fun stuff your body develops from working in a chair most of your life. The lumbar support on this chair is awesome and the I love how the mesh back keeps me cool even when I'm pushed up right to the edge of the desk.

Not worth the price
It's an OK chair, but one that would be worth a lot less. Poor finish and quality. If you can find it for under $400, then I would recommend it.
