Q: How does this product compare to the more expensive "Furminator" brand?

This item compares very favorably to the "Furminator" brand in my opinion. I have used both now, and granted it was not for extended periods of time, so I can't speak to longevity of either item, but the functionality of each seems identical. At one-third the price it feels like a good value.

Q: Will cats like this shedding tool?

This is the best tool I have ever bought for my cat. Not only does it remove unwanted hair from my pet, you can remove pet hair from any surface by sliding the comb gently over the surface. You will be surprised at how much pet hair and lint builds up on your pets bedding, your recliner, etc. Please note: Do not use on looped surfaces as it will pull the loops on the very fine and any looped surfaces of any kind.
