Works Amazingly Well, but Why Settle for Suction Alone?
The media could not be loaded. I recently upgraded my old HF blast cabinet with additional lights, glass and air connections and decided to change the blast gun too to something that wouldn’t clog up on me the way both Jewboer and Wogoboo (honestly, is that really a brand name?) do. I need more than 60 seconds of media flow to do most jobs, and those 2 weren’t doing it. I installed the Skat Blast gun and siphon along with the Blastline Suction Metering Valve. The Metering Valve worked great in feeding media and the gun didn’t clog at all. However, the media had to travel up 3 feet to the cabinet, then another 2 feet to the gun, resulting in diminished flow. So, I fitted the removable 1” plug at the bottom of the Metering Valve with a ¼” NPT nipple, 90-degree elbow and air coupler. I feed just enough compressed air (via a second regulator – see pictures) to give the blast media a nudge up the feed tube a foot or so. When the gun siphon starts, the media has a head start and creates a fog swirling around the cabinet after it does its job. Blasting gets done faster and no flow problems now. The elbow in the air feed just keeps the media out of the air line. You really don’t need much line pressure into the Metering Valve and be sure to close the valve air intake down, otherwise media will start spurting out.

Works better than suction pickup
Works well.

Great HF blaster upgrade
Nice suction pick up for the bottom of my harbor freight sand blaster. Which it would have came with the fitting for the inlet, but found a 1” galvanized chase nipple and 1” electrical nut to complete the install. Blaster worked right out of the gate, but was able to pul more media by adjusting this valve down to the last bleeder hole and raining the psi on the air pressure to 90.

It blows!!! (Pun intended)
This helped us maximize our blasting capabilities. We are a small shop and our CFM and power are paramount. This metering valve allowed us to make quick work of our projects. We use a 120 grit aluminum oxide to achieve the perfect blast profile in prep for cerakote application.

Excellent
Tried making my own that was similar to this, but ended up not working as well as I had hoped. Ordered this and I'm absolutely blown away. This changed my blast cabinet (along with a new gun)
