The product comes with a little manual for understanding how to use it.Using the product is pretty self explanatory, it can be used to read and write to DVDs and CDs, and uses USB 3.0 to make sure that this is done very quickly and without any problems.The product so far has been very reliable, as I have tried it with my laptop, and my desktop, for which it worked on both occasions. This is something that can't always be said for external electronic products.The product has a all metal design, which makes it feel very premium.Overall, I recommend this product to anyone looking for a external lightweight DVD drive for their computer or laptop. I use a HP envy which does not have a DVD drive, so this is perfect for me.The DVD Drive has an inbuilt USB cable which tucks away very nicely and is a very useful design feature of this DVD Drive. The cable however is only around 20cm long and for me, is perfect.The DVD drive supports all major DVD types and models and so far haven't come across any major problems with it. The DVD Drive doesn't make any more noise than the average inbuilt DVD Drive in laptops and hence won't be a big problem when it comes to noise.Overall this DVD drive is essential for users without DVD drives. It works like a normal DVD drive and it does everything you would expect it to do. It is priced well and hence I would recommend it to others.IMO, this little one do the job, and do the job right.

Speed:It takes a few seconds to recognize this is connected, and a few more after you put the disk in.I haven't used a disk drive in years but generally this seems to me just as fast as any internal disk drive I've used in the past. I was able to quickly see folders, and copying files was no problem at all. It's obviously not as quick as working from your own hard drive, but overall not bad for a cheap DVD drive.I didn't try burning anything with it.Quality:Seems fairly well made. No complaints.Comes with a fairly short cable but should be easy to swap if needed.Conclusion:Very pleased for the £14 I paid, with free Prime shipping.

I liked the design and I ordered immediately. These days as laptop are getting more thin but do not have DVD slot so i thought to bought enternal dvd drive. For those who think USB3.0 will make any difference here in speed are wrong. Please check the speed overall a DVD/CD rom provides with usb3.0 or usb2.0. So, i bought this cheap priced but quite decent looking product. I connected it straightaway into my laptop using USB socket. It did not show me at first any new drive letter on my laptop. Then I put a CD into it, and the drive letter showed up immediately on my windows 8. I really did not need to install any driver for it,great product.

Works super well. Did my DVD data back recording. Worked flawlessly.At this price especially, even if it will not last for too long, it recorded about 10 dvds and it worked really well. The drive is quiet, very responsive, instantly loads data. I used it with windows 8 and didn't have to install any software. Burned the disc right in windows explorer, at 6x speed but it can go as high as 8, if you are in a hurry.Overall, amazing product, especially considering that it plugs right into a usb port and doesn't require any hassle with separate power cable.Highly recommend.
