Great looking
A very nice product but it needs better packaging control.

Solid build quality but tall
Too tall for me but very good build quality, and the screws stayed fairly well in place with just hand tightening.

Ultimately versatile scope mount, but not precisely machined and questionable integrity.
First time trying the West Hunter product here, never heard about this company before. But I was intrigued by their adjustable height design and its ultimate versatility, plus they are super cheap at around 30 bucks, so I thought "why not?". These rings function similarly to the FX Airguns No-Limit series scope rings, but they cost about 3 times less. They are perfect for mounting telescopic optics onto flattop style AR-15 rifles or any other rifle with Picatinny rail. The feature that put these scope rings aside from others is that you can adjust height from 34 to 40 mm by simply removing the side bolt, pulling out the top ring part off the mount, and then inserting it back at the desired height and tightening the screw back to lock the ring. The base of the mount has a T-shaped slot for the top ring part and both parts have horizontal "guidelines", i.e. height is not freely adjustable but only step-by-step in accordance with the guidelines. See my photos to better understand how it works. This is a unique feature of these rings that allows you to set them up for practically any scope. The build quality seems to be okay'ish, but it's far from Vortex products' quality. They are not as heavy-duty as Vortex ones, and I can see a lot of small imperfections and casting marks (yes, they are cast, not machined). The fit and finish seems to be fine in general with all black matte anodizing, but it's not mil-spec. I didn't have any alignment issues with the rings, but I still had to lap them for perfect fit, which means that they are not as precisely made as top brands. The rings utilize two Allen bolts on each side to lock in two halves around the scope's tube tight, which is sufficient to prevent movement. The base has two knobs for finger-tightening, which I don't really like. As an added bonus, one of the rings has an integrated small bubble level. Now let's speak about the drawbacks. The manufacturer was trying to make scope rings to "rule them all", i.e. fit every possible scope. For this they made rings internal diameter at 34 mm and included plastic adapters for 30 mm and 1 inch scope tubes. First of all, plastic adapters are bad by definition, they're plastic, they will not hold your scope as good as aluminum rings and they are not as precise. Second, the 34 mm ring walls are thin, and it may compromise integrity on the scope mount. Also, while height adjustment is a cool feature, I don't see any real application for it. Maybe I can use them for trying out different scopes at best. But when I buy a scope, I set it up for a specific rifle and for this purpose I measure and buy rings of specific height and size. Once I set it up, I do not remove the rings from the scope and there is no reason to change rings height later on. I'd rather use classic fixed height scope rings than height adjustable rings that may fail because they create yet another point of failure in connection between your rifle's rail and the scope. I also do not like that the Picatinny clamp does not have recoil stops and instead uses mounting cross bolts as a cheap way to prevent movement of the scope.*** TL;DR ***Well, I don't know whether to recommend or not these West Hunter scope rings. They are super versatile and can be used with practically any scope thanks to height adjustment feature and tube diameter adapters. But I don't see much use for this versatility because you set up your scope once and leave it be. Plus, all these features create additional weak points and compromise integrity. Taking into account the fact that the overall quality of the rings is rather mediocre, I'm giving them 3 stars.^^^ UPDATE 11/22/2023 ^^^I had an issue with the first set of rings, one of the bolt holes in the bottom half of a ring had stripped threads and the Allen bolt was just turning non-stop when I tried to torque it to the specs. The manufacturer was quick to resolve the issue and sent me a replacement. For this great customer service, I'm bumping the rating 4 stars!+++ Pros +++1) Versatility - adjustable height and tube size design fits various scopes.2) Cost-effective - around $30, much cheaper than alternatives.3) Compatibility - works with any rifle that has Picatinny rails.4) Adjustability - height can be modified from 34 to 40 mm.5) Extra Feature - integrated bubble level for usability.--- Cons ---1) Build Quality - not as precise as higher-end brands.2) Material - thin walls and plastic adapters might compromise durability.3) Functionality - height adjustment is not practically useful.4) Complexity - additional features create potential weak points.5) Fit and Finish - may require additional lapping for a perfect fit.6) Mounting - does not have recoil stops, uses cross bolts instead.

These have a few uses!
Al though the mounts can be locked up very soiled.. These are a very inexpensive way to get the height right and then buy a solid version. They also work for when you want/need to try different scopes of different sizes. I have bought more than one set of these.
