Have purchased 2 other light boxes in the past, one many years ago for calligraphy that was very clunky and awkward and would only plug into wall outlet, one purchased in 2017 like this one for my artwork and for viewing photo negatives and xrays works fantastic. These new very thin and easy to use light boxes are like going from the horse and buggy to a sleek race car. I wanted to get my grand children (7,8,10years old) interested in art, after seeing how much fun they had in making their own creations by tracing pictures I downloaded (free) from the internet I decided to get one more Illuminati light box. I now have 3 light boxes and will probably have to order another since no one wants to use the old style clunky box (that takes so much room to store), time to retire it. What I love about the Illuminati light box, it is plenty bright for tracing even if using heavy weight paper (use brightest setting), it has adjustable brightness settings, and is so so compact. With the kids I worry about power cables stretching across my kitchen to the table so I got 2 small power banks and use the short cable connected to the light box to plug into the power bank battery, no more problem no more need for wall plug and long cables. Now I just pull out the light box, plug into power bank and it's ready to use, and it can be used anywhere. Amazon has many 'power banks' to choose from ranging from about $10 and up. My first one is 5600mAh 3.75” long X1.5”wide X.5” thick Input DC5V/1amp Output DC5V/1amp, no flicker and the kids used the light box for about 3 hours and still had plenty of battery left for more sessions.I just ordered another power bank from amazon for this new light box 'Portable Charger Jackery Bar 6000mAh Pocket-sized External Battery Pack'. I also purchased a simple zippered padded sleeve at amazon $11, I put the light box and the small power bank in together and voila! I can grab and run with it or quickly go to work and I can stack them (3 with my next order) and they take very little space. FYI, My 1st battery sat unused for a year with a full charge and still had most the charge when I tried it with my first LED light box.Hope this helps, I love this light box and its versatility. Just what I need for my art projects. I use it mainly for my 5D Diamond Art and it works superbly! The 2 different light settings are super nice as well. Very nice product for the price. I can plug it into the USB plug on my lamp and off I go! I can slide it under my work wherever I need it. It's really thin so it doesn't create a bulky area under my artwork. Just what I needed.

This was purchased as a gift for my son for C'mas. He has yet to open the gift but I did! I played around with it and it does exactly as stated. It is lightweight yet easy to manipulate. I wouldn't advise it for children UNLESS they were sitting on carpet or at a table. If dropped, I would say it would crack. But then again, you are tracing therefore shouldn't be walking around! I like the 3 level brightness & easy on/off switch. Came with some tracing paper, paper slide on holder. It was very nicely packaged, secure. I would highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a medium priced tracing pad for an aspiring artist. Also, this seller sent this item quickly so no complaints with them.

This Light Box works perfect and the price is great. It comes with 3 different light settings and easily changes between the 3. It's very simple to get just the perfect amount of light for the type of paper you are working on. I purchased this to transfer some sketches I had done to thick watercolor paper so I could have the minimal amount of erasures on the watercolor paper itself. This was so light weight and stable to handle. It works perfectly for how I wish to use it.

I found the unit to be easy to use, very intuitive. It's very bright with a good dimmer feature. USB powered, so you can work it from your computer. Cord was long enough to reach without having to angle it awkwardly or prop it up, etc. Very lightweight and portable. Allows me to trace images with ease. It shines through 20# stock plus heavy watercolor paper with no problem. Would recommend for artist for sure!

Super light in weight and brightness. 3 brightness levels. Nice touch sensitive power so it’s easy to turn off a change brightness. This can light up a dark room easily. Need to have an extension for it as the cord is very short. Son loves it. Now I have to buy another one because his brother is jealous of how cool it is. Totally worth the price.These would make great accent lights or night lights as well even though they aren’t designed for that.

I like that the product is very lightweight and easy to use and store. It is replacing an old fluorescent light box that was 24"x20"x3" so you can understand my excitement there. It plugs into a device with a USB port or into a USB wall outlet adapter (included). I can see both options being very handy for us. One reviewer even suggested a power bank, which I might do. I also like the clip. It allowed me to set up a project for my son and hand it off to him knowing the paper would stay put. I found the best way to put the clip on was to begin at one end of the box and slide it lengthwise onto the box, just like you would put the similar clip onto a plastic report cover.Our first project was to do a tracing from a piece of basic 20 lb copy paper onto cardstock. We used brightness level 3 in a room with the shade pulled down (sunny day). It could have been done without darkening the room, but was, of course, much better in the darker room. It was plenty bright for that.I cannot speak to the durability as we have just received the item, but I am pleased to note that the box (tablet really-you could hardly call it a box, it is so thin) has a tail to plug the cord into rather than plugging directly into the box. Reviews of other products had complained about failures of cords that plug into the boxes themselves, and I am pleased to note that will not be a problem here.
