Designed for a new level of shaving control and precision, the BLACK DRAGON is unique in the barbering industry. Our three rivet design adds sturdiness and long life to the handle. The black powder-coated stainless steel is not just for its sophisticated look, it adds a new dimension of functionality by giving the master shaver better contrast with his blade and rust protection.

crappily manufactured
i thought this was a clever designed and looking razor. To my disappointment; its terribly made, like i feel scammed out of $40 bad. I initially ordered it from one seller which i returned it to because they seemed to be selling knock offs as the steel was heated to change its color not coated... then i ordered from md themselves on amazon. The thing was all scratched up right out the box.... i let it go and proceeded to use it. The load mechanism which i thought would be really cool ended up being a pain in the ass and slides the blade out of place whenever you try and close it.The shave... well it only shaves right half the time. why? because one side of the blade holder "tongue" is too thick. It doesn't make proper contact with my skin because it blocks the blade from getting a good angle. I wasted my money hoping for a decent product but it isnt even that. the MD guys may have designed something cool but whoever manufactures this thing suckssss!!!

This razor is nice for the money though
I finally gave up on using a straight razor on myself. Started to get too nervous about cutting myself, and switched to a safety razor instead. This razor is nice for the money though. Solid design and construction

Nice shavette
This is a nice shavette. I use Wilkinson Sword double edge blades. I was a little disappointed to see that the handle is made out of plastic, but it does seem well constructed and sturdy for plastic. I like the weight and feel of this better than my Parker shavette, however, the Parker (which is all stainless) seems more sturdy. This is lighter in comparison, which I prefer. I like the black coating used on the arm. Some of my other shavette's have started to rust, so I hope this will prevent that from happening. Blade exposure is perfect on the lowest setting for me. The rivets are very tight, which means the arm does not swing freely. That's great from a safety stand point, but can be tedious when you need two hands every time you want to adjust the angle of the blade while shaving. My only real complaint is the price tag. $40 does seem a bit steep for this, especially considering the handle is made of plastic. It does come with a nice leather travel case that you could also fit a few blades in.As of right now, this is my everyday shaver. Coupled with the Wilkinson blades, I get a great shave. I can't comment on durability yet, but I hope it holds up. Good product overall.

That was my first disappointment. Then the barbicide I dipped it in to ...
Not worth 40 bucks.. I'll tell you why, first off the materials used to make this razor are cheap. That was my first disappointment. Then the barbicide I dipped it in to disinfect it turned out to affect the pole thing on the securing mechanism so that snapped right off. Point blank it really isn't worth the money.

happy barber
Razor looked used, showed finger prints and smudging but, in good shape. I needed to wipe clean prior to giving as a gift.

almost there
Black powder coating should be a little more resistant to EPA disinfectants. Besides that it works just fine I'd say
